Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Issue B doesn't exist if Issue A does what it's supposed to. And if Gov absolutely have to continue with travel, to not have the most basic of checks in place is reckless negligence.

It's a bit of both in the sense that it's a huge chunk of one, a wee bit of the other.

If people are so concerned over the spread of the virus - either them spreading it or catching it - then the best idea is probably not to get on a tin can in the sky for four hours.

Can you imagine if these people had to live during The Blitz for example?

"I'm going to leave my lights on thank you very much! I don't care if the Luftwaffe bombs my house, I'm not living in fear"

Ignoring of course that they will also be making a nice target of the houses of everyone else on their street
The outcry about individual issue gasmasks...

It would keep the Spectator and Telegraph busy for years

Yeah, you've said that. Why aren't gov concerned enough?

Why is airport for said tin can still running as normal? Why are there next to no checks in airport? etc etc.

Sky News going on about new restrictions, whilst the next news piece shows shed loads of journos all huddled together outside the Old Bailey to get a glimpse of that Asange blert..

I have said the government should shut the borders.

I also think there should be testing at the airports (if they are open), but what good does it actually do unless it's rapid testing?

Someone could get tested, leave, go about their business for the rest of the day and then return a positive result.

So it just has to be mandatory isolation - again, how is this enforced - or rapid testing.

Solution would be to keep people in hotels at the airports like they did in Melbourne. Easiest solution is people not to travel and borders be shut bar for essential stuff.

But just because the airports are open, doesn't mean people should be flocking to go abroad.

The filtration system used in planes would be much safer than sitting in a school.

I think they should shut schools as well.

I also think they should shut the borders and airports for anything other than essential travel. However, I also think that people choosing to travel across the world at this time when they don't absolutely have to is contributing to the issue.

All travel in and out of the country should have been closed during the first lockdown.

Instead we had open borders and no restrictions.
