We`re already there Pete, my nutty mate ( mid 40`s and healthy ) has recently declared that he`s not leaving the house until he`s had the vaccine.

So, if he gets it in July / Aug as per the sliding scale for his age etc, he will have been in self imposed isolation for the best part of 18 mths.

I guess she just didn’t have the “spirit of the blitz”. Honestly some of you in this thread are an absolute disgrace. Dismissing people with mental health issues as being upset they have to wear a mask. It’s pathetic. Absolute state of some of the boomers in here. I don't really get it when people act like that. I mainly worry about killing my nan or something not myself. Statistically if you're below 60 the chances of death is extremely low.

Well they have the basics of this vaccine don't they? They don't have to start from scratch so at least there's that?

Also, it's still covid-19. It's still the same virus, just a different variant. People who have the vaccination will still have protection in some form, and it's not like covid actually infects everyone or does damage to everyone.

The actual percentage of people who get ill (as in completely bed-ridden) from this is low. Obviously an even smaller percentage is in risk of hospitalisation. It's still a lot of people, but it's not everybody.
