Beginning of the end I hope, only worry is the anti vaccine muppets start scaremongering they do my head in.

The anti-vaxers aren't the worry.

It's the people clamouring for full lockdown for months on end (they'll usually have an EU flag in their Twitter handle) until every single person is vaccinated, or magical new zombie strains appearing that mean we have to hold off on getting back to normality even when the vulnerable groups have been vaccinated that are the issue.

The government has one job now - get these vaccines out efficiently and to those who need them, asap. Once that's done, then life should be allowed to go back to the 'normality' that we had in the summer, at least. No tiers, no lockdowns. Yes, social distancing to an extent and yes, masks etc on transport. That's all well and good while the rest of the vaccines are rolled out. But anything further than that is beyond what should be put up with.

Christ alive, what’s happened there?!
France was apparently 969 people yesterday, but that appears a big jump based on the daily trend so perhaps it's a lag or an exception.
Deaths occurring now would have been infected 3-4 weeks ago I guess? If so we’re in for a grim January
From what I've read, there's usually a minimum of a two week lag up to a month like you mention. Sadly, it appears as if cases will continue to surge...

... with that it's a worrying projection for mid to late January in terms of deaths.

That literally dawned on me just now. Christmas lag in counting surely, cos neither were posting massive case numbers 2 weeks ago. Increased, yes, but not that massive.

It always makes me feel better about our situation when I look at the ongoing mess in Czech. Over 16,000 cases yesterday (that'd be just shy of 100,000 on a procapita basis if they had our population). The family infected count is getting up near 40

Infected or seriously ill ?....
