Hospital figures - 393 deaths were announced today, down 29 on yesterday and up 186 on last Sunday. 266 deaths were in English hospitals, down 73 on yesterday and up 107 on last week. The 7 day rolling average rises to an even 372

I've had a rough year and was so optimistic about the vaccine being the beginning of the end.

This news is freaking me out.

In layman's terms can someone tell me whether it is more deadly, whether the vaccine is now irrelevant and whether a poster who said its going to be a [Poor language removed] 18 months from now is scare mongering?

I'm strong mentally but this is a hammer blow.

They reckon the vaccine should still work - even if it never its a simple tweak I imagine same as how the flu jab is tweaked every year to combat the Flu's mutation.

I genuinely thought it was a scare tactic to get London locked up due to not locking down earlier.
But now I don't know.

I have a deep distrust of government but if they're worried, it usually is bad news.

Typically the more contagious a virus mutates the less deadly it becomes so depending on if you're a glass half full or empty person it could be either.

Regardless until we are vaccinated life isnt changing so best to expect nothing until April/May at the earliest.
