How do you know that timeline of events?

Is called VUI-202012/01, so reckon 1st December, by 13th December there had been over 1000 confirmed case in South England.

Just reading stuff by New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group, who Whitty name dropped as responsible for identifying this strain, they have been warning this since September!

Its certainly a no win! It sucks.

We all view this stuff from our own perspective, which is understandable. For months my perspective, and that of my family, (cos they know why), has been hermit like. I dont get it, Mrs R wont get it. Fully appreciate that millions cannot live that simply.

Its awful mate I cant wait for this vaccine to be rolled out! I mentioned on here a few weeks back one of my best mates relatives went into hospital as had a bad reaction to something then caught Covid in there and died.

They had been shielding for months and hadn't left the house. Someone else I know personally caught it and was also shielding (survived it) but they think it was from a delivery of food or post that must have been contaminated.

I dont think there is a fool proof way of avoiding it other than living somewhere rural and barely coming into contact with anyone/anything. I'm just going to be sensible drop presents off, wear my mask and stay for half hour and get off - it'll be the idiots having a few bevvys and dancing around hugging one another that will have us all back in lockdown come January!

This whole banning travel from the UK seems a bit late. They've already found cases outside the UK. Banning all travel is the only option if they want to go down that route.

The UK is now in the worst position of any nation on earth. The virus was spreading even with masks and social distancing. Now its 70% worse there is no chance these measures will work.

The next 12-18 months will be painful, even the people who survive the virus will be mentally destroyed. The economy is going to get ten times worse now that here is essentially a blockade around the UK.
