Possibly?More testing?
But 99.9% of people adhering to the rules we've been told works shouldn't account for the numbers we are getting now.
Possibly?More testing?
Do 99% of people wear masks? Do 99% of people wear masks correctly?Possibly?
But 99.9% of people adhering to the rules we've been told works shouldn't account for the numbers we are getting now.
From what I understand (Not in any way a virusologist, I manage buildings and stuff) It's the humidity that is believed to be the biggest influence on respiratory illnesses. In winter, cold outside = low humidity. Heat up that cold air indoors as we all do = even lower humidity. That dries up all your snot and good stuff that fights off infections so you get a bigger hit and possibly also allows the virus to stay airborne longer. Low humidity is also thought to allow the virus to stay viable longer in the air, either just because it stays airborne longer or because there's something in moist air it doesn't like. Strangely the same effects are thought to apply at really high humidity. Unsurprisingly every humidifier manufacturer is latching on to this for their sales pitch. They reckon the next best defence is a mask.As an aside, is there any meat to the idea that as temperatures cool, the droplets that carry COVID are more likely to turn into aerosols, which as aerosols travel much further than droplets would make 2m social distancing somewhat redundant (not to mention limit the effectiveness of masks)?

The north remembers nothing. Northerners voted for this mess on the promise of less foreigners and because Jeremy Corbyn was a bad man, conveniently forgetting phrases such as ‘managed decline’
You're not understanding the point I'm making whatsoever.
They say that the measures are likely to remain in place until the R number is 0.8, which I'm inclined to think will take a few months.
Snowflake generation. Amirite?![]()
Figures lay bare toll of pandemic on UK children's mental health
Investigation finds rises in school safeguarding reports, eating disorder treatment and sleeping pill prescriptionswww.theguardian.com
More mental health issues occurring in the younger generations.
How do you explain now we have more cases than ever before when
we have less human contact than ever before
we have less places open than ever before
we have less crowded areas than ever before
and more importantly we have worn more masks worn than ever before
So where's the evidence that mask works, logic says it should but the figures says it doesnt.
All these lockdowns, restrictions, masks, social distancing everywhere across the world and we are not achieving anything.
More 'New cases' everyday everywhere.
Are we getting to a point where we have to live with it rather run from it and wait for it to disappear.
Its crippling life itself and I don't mean people who have it, very soon potentially getting Covid will be the least of our problems.
Its ok saying 12,000 new cases and 100 deaths but what about the other 60 million peoples lives its destroying. This shouldn't be about the death count anymore.
ten minutes? not yet UK, but just recently Belgium and Italy introduced nation wide mask policy, that it will be worn everywhere at all times except households. Not to mention work places or offices. We can safely say a lot of people wear masks 10+ hours daily. Not saying it is meaningless, sure it helps, but it is not nothing like 10 min tops stuff, a very unpleasant practice especially when you walk or are on the move. I for one sweat a lot because of it.I think if you took away social distancing and masks then you'd see the numbers spike even higher
Japan is pretty much back to "normal", but everyone wears masks and follows the guidelines, so they don't have anywhere close to the issues we do and are thus able to stay on top of it still
People just need to gut it out and follow the guidelines when out and about. If we do that most of the other issues will sort themselves out
Wearing a mask for 10 minutes when you do your weekly shop is hardly a harship and it will not only save lives but get us through to the other side quicker
The longer you keep a pandemic within a population, the longer the likely recovery will be.Gut it out for how long? another 6 months, a year?
Sorry mate but other issues like a destroyed economy, job loses etc dont just sort themselves out.
For each passing month is probably an extra year added to get out of this mess.
How many people now are more worried about the their future instead of Covid?
I did hear correctly... lol
Can you honestly say you haven't seen people chatting away well within a metre of each other? Cause I have seen loads. Go to any school in the morning and look how close they get. They don't believe there is a problem so they don't take the precautions. Lots of people who get sick don't self isolate and round and round it goes.
The government would probably take your advice but it all falls back on the NHS collapsing and they can't let that happen.
