what does darkness have to do with exercise though? that you can't run in the dark? it is actually a lot of fun.

I'm fine with doing it, but it puts lots of people off. It can be a psychological thing, a safety issue in more rural areas, or people who just don't feel comfortable running by themselves in towns or cities in the dark.

It's not just running either. There are no other sports allowed in my area right now other than elite level. We can't even have our 5 a side, not even outdoors. Lots of people don't like running either, they have bad knees or injuries etc and find it difficult. If you don't allow other forms of sport or recreation, then closing gyms literally takes away their opportunity of exercise. I have no idea who thinks this is sensible during a health crisis. Exercise is good for body and mind, and is needed more than ever.

Czech has just announced what is pretty much a national lockdown again after they recorded nearly 12,000 cases yesterday and over 100 deaths, which are pretty much the worst figures in the world. No gathering outside, no shops or anything open except those selling groceries and medicines. They say that the measures are likely to remain in place until the R number is 0.8, which I'm inclined to think will take a few months.
Unless I'm missing something there's a lot of countries with much higher figures currently, including ourselves...

All these lockdowns, restrictions, masks, social distancing everywhere across the world and we are not achieving anything.
More 'New cases' everyday everywhere.

Are we getting to a point where we have to live with it rather run from it and wait for it to disappear.

Its crippling life itself and I don't mean people who have it, very soon potentially getting Covid will be the least of our problems.
Its ok saying 12,000 new cases and 100 deaths but what about the other 60 million peoples lives its destroying. This shouldn't be about the death count anymore.

I think if you took away social distancing and masks then you'd see the numbers spike even higher

Japan is pretty much back to "normal", but everyone wears masks and follows the guidelines, so they don't have anywhere close to the issues we do and are thus able to stay on top of it still

People just need to gut it out and follow the guidelines when out and about. If we do that most of the other issues will sort themselves out

Wearing a mask for 10 minutes when you do your weekly shop is hardly a harship and it will not only save lives but get us through to the other side quicker

I guess the question I would pose is with the majority of people wearing masks etc numbers are still rising.

The majority of the people have been wearing them since we were told to and quite a few wore them before then and yet numbers still go up.

It certainly makes you wonder if the cases are more specific than we realise and stem for the vast majority from no mask areas such as schools , pubs and such. Not so much gyms and resturants but places where you can't wear masks , could that be the trigger rather than a blanket ban on most things?
