That is something that makes me curious sure because there is plenty of evidence of it being a real thing. Not really something you can talk about on here though without being accused of calling covid a hoax lol
Trust me it’s real!! We have to do a covid test 72 hours before we fly, then you have to produce your negative certificate when checking in. On arrival in the country we are taken from the plane straight to a quarantine facility (hotel) where you can’t leave the room and your food gets delivered in a bag that’s left outside your door. Then after a week 48 hours before you come onboard you do another test and you only come onboard if the test is negative.
last week a guy had been onboard for 5 days after the above protocol was followed, then unfortunately the project has been cancelled, so on arrival from the vessel to your hotel you get tested again before you fly home and that’s when the guy tested positive!!! So our vessel has gone into lock down!
for 14 days. Anyway they have done two further Covid tests on the lad since 3 days after his positive result and 6 days and guess what?? Both negative!!
So in about 2 and half weeks the guy has had 5 tests one positive and 4 negative
So false positives do exist!! FACT

Not really sure this proves something as fact. You could just as easily, from your description, suggest that false negatives are thing.

How do you explain now we have more cases than ever before when
we have less human contact than ever before
we have less places open than ever before
we have less crowded areas than ever before
and more importantly we have worn more masks worn than ever before

So where's the evidence that mask works, logic says it should but the figures says it doesnt.

First we had eat out to spread it about, then all education reopened and everyone was told to get back to work, and now the autumn, wet cooler and miserable weather, we start spending more time indoors spreading all viruses about... Masks do work, ask any medical professional, just they won't negate the effects of those caveats I have mentioned mentioned, probably more but I can't be arsed to think.

Can you share some?
I mean this is one that was in the news recently

Liverpool forward Xherdan Shaqiri will fly to Spain for Switzerland's Euro Nations tie after testing negative for Covid-19.

The 28-year-old had been self-isolating, along with team-mate Manuel Akanji, after testing positive for coronavirus ahead of Wednesday's friendly defeat to Croatia.

I'm 83...I put metal in the microwave, what do I care?! I'm 83...I drive without a seatbelt, what do I care? I'm 83...I pour water on my electric fire each night, what do I care?! Im 83...

Given she is in the age group that suggests she would die based on all the information provided , it's a bit wierd to dismiss their opinion on not wanting to stay locked away at that age.

People smoke knowing it can kill them, so an 83 year old woman wants to go out rather than stay in in a pandemic, what's the difference?

Can't say she will pass it onto someone else as per usual line because, well , she is the age group we are protecting .

I'm not doubting they exist. There are any number of reasons why you might get one. Just thought you might have seen something that would have data or analysis.

I've seen suggestion that the rate is between below 1% and 3.5% (although since are suggesting that it is a 'majority of cases').

I'm not dismissing her wishes. I'm dismissing it as a credible policy decision applied to a nation.

And also, I know false negatives are thing too. I'm just not sure how the example given indicates one or the other.

Think it's fine to have this attitude, however, I would like it quantified similar to DNR ( Do Not Resuscitate) such as do not ventilate etc. Smoking can take years and all most certainly does to have ill effects on health, the comparison is daft.

Speaking to my in-laws earlier. Previously, they were all a bit like that lady "we've had our life, we're not going to be cowed" etc., but then their old neighbour got it and sadly died from it. Funnily enough, they're not so gung-ho any more as they realise they don't really fancy dying.
