Speaking to my in-laws earlier. Previously, they were all a bit like that lady "we've had our life, we're not going to be cowed" etc., but then their old neighbour got it and sadly died from it. Funnily enough, they're not so gung-ho any more as they realise they don't really fancy dying.

I can imagine that reaction yeah. Months ago there was a caller in a phone in much the same , don't care want to go out at my age etc. I know someone older who would still be going the pub a few times a week if they were still open .

I just think if they want to go out then let them. They know the risk and are old enough to make their own decision lol doesn't change the protecting element that we have in place for others who don't share the sentiment.

People are only finding out about false positives?

They’ve been happening since the start of the thing. Not that there’s anything sinister behind it.

It’s the same as Covid being on someone’s death certificate when they died with something else.

There’s nothing actually sinister behind any of it and it doesn’t change the fact this is very much real.

Gyms reopening will help a lot of people's mental health. I do think there must be some spread there but people need to stay fit and healthy to fight off the virus. I would guess fitness levels at all age groups has suffered over the past twelve months.

Not really sure this proves something as fact. You could just as easily, from your description, suggest that false negatives are thing.

So it’s either a false positive
Or 4 false negatives which will mean our vessel will be rife with it very soon, As we all share the same canteen/Gym and in very much close proximity with each other. All 260 of us had a test today so we will see in the next couple of days when we get the results back.

False positives/false negatives are a thing. Not sure they are that widespread a problem though. If false negative be, you're all isolating. If false positive, surely they would just get re-tested if no symptoms?

He did get re tested twice, and that’s what we thought would happen after his second negative result that it would be lifted but because he’s been on here it’s the government that have told us we must do 14 days regardless.
