Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

As we saw from the BLM marches and the beaches in the Summer mate, it doesn`t look like being outside is the problem.

I'm still standing by the theorem that the disease was not prevalent enough after the long lockdown to create a problem back then. With the closeness people are chatting the outdoors part is irrelevant imho until it's actually proven not to be the case. You can easily get spores out with a large laugh etc. and unless it is blowing a hurricane to take them in the opposite direction (but even then it could be blown onto some other poor person who was standing downwind).

I think there was a lot of false statements banded about early on that make people feel safe. For sure there is way less risk than indoors, but if you don't take precautions like distancing those start to narrow.

I think if you took away social distancing and masks then you'd see the numbers spike even higher

Japan is pretty much back to "normal", but everyone wears masks and follows the guidelines, so they don't have anywhere close to the issues we do and are thus able to stay on top of it still

People just need to gut it out and follow the guidelines when out and about. If we do that most of the other issues will sort themselves out

Wearing a mask for 10 minutes when you do your weekly shop is hardly a harship and it will not only save lives but get us through to the other side quicker
You mean because the Japanese people are polite and respectful of each other and not selfish arse holes out for only themselves like the westerners are?

I guess the question I would pose is with the majority of people wearing masks etc numbers are still rising.

The majority of the people have been wearing them since we were told to and quite a few wore them before then and yet numbers still go up.

It certainly makes you wonder if the cases are more specific than we realise and stem for the vast majority from no mask areas such as schools , pubs and such. Not so much gyms and resturants but places where you can't wear masks , could that be the trigger rather than a blanket ban on most things?
Or a lot of false positives?

Gut it out for how long? another 6 months, a year?

Sorry mate but other issues like a destroyed economy, job loses etc dont just sort themselves out.
For each passing month is probably an extra year added to get out of this mess.

How many people now are more worried about the their future instead of Covid?
Too right. We could destroy the future for a whole generation and more...

Or a lot of false positives?
