Let’s be honest though, large scale outdoor socialising from October through March simply isn’t realistic in countries like Germany and the UK.

It's getting bad again in hospitals. Like "can't do emergency cases because all your anaesthetists are stuck in A&E intubating people" bad- hope it's just a bad weekend. If not, Boris has already said there'll be no second lockdown and that could be catastrophic...

We can apply this across many illnesses over the coming months and years, think it's been an absolute fallacy that the NHS has coped, nothing could be further from truth, a nefarious PR trick.

I think so to pal, the new Goverment have been wish washy on the policy around managing this, the lockdown in Dublin was a joke.

That said opening up was always going to be trickier then locking down.

Be a lot of depression I think this winter.

Varadkar undermining at every opportunity hasnt helped but its been one disaster to another. 2-3 week hard lockdown and hope for the best.

It was always a poisoned challenge to be honest, Martin hasn’t been great during the time in my opinion. Not sure his heart is in it either.

I think if we get things on an even keel, in Oct, Nov at Level 4 we can pull off Christmas then deal with another spike in Feb. Should see us through until Spring.

Very little good will left though I fear.

People are fed up mate, the mental health impact has been huge, people are prepared to take risks for mental health and quality of life.

Not saying it’s right, it’s not in terms of managing this clinically, but I have empathy and compassion also, it’s what I’m seeing in the health service in particular.
