If we go into a 'two week lockdown' or whatever they call it, there is no way it will be just two weeks seeing as how far behind the data is. Could go on for months.

I think that advice has changed now.
Not really if a local lockdown only focuses on homes.

And people even on here still believe it to be true.

There needs to be a fine balance and Liverpool's lockdown isn't balanced still. At most you are just cutting drunks and families seeing each other.

....interesting to see Australia coming out of their winter and the numbers of flu cases is significantly down because of Covid safeguards.
This is something I think will happen here as well.

If we have all measures in place then it won't be just covid that struggles to transmit , all bugs will have a harder time. Not impossible like but if we are wearing a mask and social distancing , surely we are less likely to get other coronaviruses at the same time.

That will probably just stop people getting the test then if they think they have it...

It does mention you get a 500£ lump sum if you have to isolate and cant work from home but thats hardly going to cover 2 weeks work of self employed is it...

im self employed and cant afford to be off for 2 weeks, too many people depend on the money

Flu figures shouldn't be a problem because there is a quite effective vaccine available against it.
It's free for all over 60 here in France, problem is only a 45 % take up.
Should be made compulsory.

Dont think anything should be compulsory like, what happend to freedom of choice?

You really aren't coming across well in this threat at all.

RE the covid vaccine providing everyone who wants it gets it then surely it doesn't matter if someone who doesn't gets covid as I imagine those who have been vaccinated would be protected anyway?

Im not anti vax by any means but I can see why some are worried considering how fast it is been produced.

I've never had a flu jab but dont think I've ever had the flu (or if I've had it must have only had it mild) but then again I barely get ill apart from the odd cold that lasts 2-3 days.
