It has happened, my friends own a sandwich shop on the wirral and through delivery (a new venture for them) during the pandemic have actually done well and taken on new staff, which is great for them as I feared they'd be going under. I must hasten to add that I realise this is an isolated case of strange circumstances and wouldn't use this rare example to highlight the well being of the restaurant trade

Tell me more about this sandwich shop please mate!

Instead of making life difficult for the majority why dont the coppers just belt any large groups of clowns hanging around parks and going to large parties / raves.

Peoples livelihoods put in jeopardy whilst the same clowns who are likely the biggest contributors of spread will keep getting away with it.

In that case, I think your mate was lying to you. Or being extremely sarcastic. Or he opened his place on 1st March.

He wasn't a mate, I'd never spoken to him until after the lockdown ended.

Of course they can - anyone caught having large parties or raves = jail sentence do not pass go do not collect £200.

Believe me the fear alone will put an end to most of it. Some 18 year old isnt arsed by a telling off and a small fine at most which likely never gets paid.

They get 10k fines now for parties, that is a fair old deterrent.
