people are quick to slate young people for not sticking to the rules, but The lockdown and Pandemic has asked a lot of that generation. they basically got told to stay in, lose their jobs all for something that doesn't effect them.

My local pub is full of over 70's who all should be shielding IMO, and they don't stick to social distancing etc.

they are the idiots.

The country needs young people to catch the virus and recover

I've seen poor distancing from all ages tbh.

Expecting the young and healthy to follow rules stringently for over 6 months was a bit unlikely to me. We did well on the whole for a long time, but people will naturally want to return to some sort of normality. If they insist on bringing back restrictions right up to Christmas then the ground swell of opinion will be firmly against the government, if it isn't already...

What follows isn't aimed at you personally ...

It's easy to blame the government for everything, the lack of substance and competence in the cabinet makes it easy. But, in this thread, and, to a much lesser extent, in society as a whole, there are people who will blame anyone else in order to avoid taking any personal responsibility.

If the government do nothing, then we're at high risk of following France and Spain's recent routes, of increased hospitalisations and, in Spain's case, increased deaths. We can either learn from their recent experiences, or do what we did in February and March, and ignore those experiences.

Chances are, a fair few of those moaning now about increased restrictions, also moaned about us not acting quickly enough at the start. So proving that the internet is a gathering place for village idiots.

Anyway, I'm off for a walk in our village

No-one is fooled by this 6 person rule inside private homes its all about forcing these groups into paid venues and so to part with more of their monies...

I have witnessed same demographic doing the same... If you are in Shropshire as i was, maybe its a shire thing?

Some barman at one of my locals tested positive and still showed up for work. 400 people are now being contacted lol

Could he not live off £13 a day, he could knock the iphones and lattes on the head, budgeting responsibility and all that...

TBF I don't know what the sick pay would be in his case

What is the German sick pay rate, generally?
Generally 6 weeks on full pay then down to 70% after that. The 6-week period starts anew for each new illness. I don';t really know the details of what bar staff employment contracts are like, so not sure if he would've qualified for that or not really.

Then again German employment law does protect even short term or flexible workers too, so I really don't know.

People's homes are where the spread is worst.

Schooling and working are necessary, having a Sunday lunch isn't.

You can't call things a U turn every time they change, we're in a pandemic. Of course governments have to change the rules as the virus spreads or dies down.

Don't take it from the government, take it from the experts. Judge the decisions on the scientific basis behind them, not the fact that the Tories are nobheads:
How anyone listens to you when you poured scorn on those of us cautioning against loosening the restrictions is beyond me.

You must have a brass neck and / or think most of this forum have short term memory loss regarding your posting history. A poster who - as late as the end of last month - was laughing at and poking fun at others for cautioning the full reopening of the economy really has no hand to play in talking about 'science'

Fake news.

I did however laugh at you and poke fun at you for fear-mongering about a second wave 'tsunami' crashing into us because of pubs re-opening, which never happened. Not sure why I need to apologise for that.

I have never made fun of somebody simply for being cautious about restrictions being loosened, and I have never said a second wave would not happen. Here is a post I made in July on the subject:

Think it will likely go to pot in a couple of months when it’s no longer warm enough to spend extended periods of time sat outdoors.

You're just a bare-faced liar.
