Getting businesses up and running again is key but we still have to be careful. The pub I visited last night had all of the tables that were designated for eating completely full, with families taking advantage of the half price offer. The same pub will be near empty on Thursday. I took my granddaughter to an outdoor play area yesterday, packed with young mums, dads and their children. My granddaughter and myself were the only people wearing a face mask. It looks to me that we will end up with herd immunity whether we aspired to it or not.....
The government’s plan from the start, but they’ll never admit it with so many dead.

Come on Davie, even you must realise, people have to earn a living.
There has to be middle ground, in any outlook.
Just wait a month or so. These infection incubators WILL be shut down again.

And that will be out of necessity.

Choice wont come into it.

I completely agree, however according to @davek the simple matter of setting foot in any pub / restaurant in the UK is either sentencing you or anyone you come into contact with after to death lol
It's simple: you calculate you will or you wont heighten the possibility of becoming infected with the virus by entering a pub or restaurant.

It's a gamble, not only for you and your family, but anyone you then come into contact with.

That's the bottom line.

That;s why they WILL be shut down in the next month-6 weeks.

By the way, what about the pub that is the fulcrum of the local community, that has darts teams, footy teams, is a meeting place for the elderly and retired, organises charity nights, I could go on and on.

We get it, you see the hospitality industry as this massive capitalist machine, whose only aim is to bleed its unruly proletarian customers dry.

Maybe if you actually went into a well run community pub for once, you’d actually see and experience the reality, rather than what your Morning Star tells you a pub is.
Ha Ha Ha.

That sounds like the 1950s.

You'll be telling me next you use the local ale house to play bowls and quoits.

The ale house is there for bar flies who want to get pissed all day and kids who want to cause murder.

Do you enjoy anything mate?

You’re coming across as someone who never leaves his house casting judgment on things you take no part in.

I’ll ask again, what about people’s jobs if pubs, restaurants and hospitality shut down?

Do you not think there should be a middle ground that involves protecting jobs as well?

I get it; you value the economy over health. I see it the other way around.

What about anyone who cannot afford to be out of work or furloughed?

I know someone who even at 80% pay still struggles month to month.

You can't say shut everything down and sod anyone who then can't afford to live as a result. Not everyone makes a decent wage to take a hit on.

Undoubtedly you`re barred from every pub within miles of where you live, as most of the customers climb out of the bog windows the moment you walk in lol

Can’t you just answer the question mate?

I don’t value the economy over health. I value the jobs of young people though, whereas you don’t seem to?

There’s a middle ground with all this. Again, for the third time, what about people’s jobs?
There is no middle ground. Virus's dont see middle ground. They just take up space where people are in large numbers for long periods.
