You portray pubs as some kind of spit and sawdust dens of iniquity, yet having just eaten out with my family for 2 weeks solid in a wide variety of pubs / hotels whilst on holiday here’s what I encountered :
A reception area at the entrance to the majority of pubs / hotels, where track and trace details where provided and hands sanitised.
All staff wearing either masks or visors.
A table was allocated, where you had to remain and food and drink orders where taken.
No standing or approaching the bar.
Food / drink was then brought to you / empties taken away by a member of staff wearing a mask / visor.
One way only to the toilet and return via another way to maintain social distancing.
Hand sanitisers on the tables / entrances and exits and in the toilets.
Once the new max captivity was reached customers turned away or phone numbers taken to call them when a table came free.
Oh and I didn’t see one drunk person in 2 weeks.
What I did see was an industry that is doing it’s best to survive and also provide employment/ livelihoods for thousands of local people and preserve the character and fabric of entire communities.
But don’t let that get in the way of your jaundiced view of life and your many many mad agendas.

There's been no lockdown in this country. There's been a request to stay safe and a furloughing of workers from March to the present. How long do you want people to be locked down for? The government have proved they cant or wont do a thing.

None of that is a sure fire way of avoiding transmission. It just means that the minimum requested of that sector is carried out while they carry on their fundamental task of taking cash off customers. You portray pubs as some kind of spit and sawdust dens of iniquity, yet having just eaten out with my family for 2 weeks solid in a wide variety of pubs / hotels whilst on holiday here’s what I encountered :

Well said. This fully backs up my own experience. Pub Landlords and owners are behaving very responsibly, and so too are the customers.....

It's a non-argument to say that precautions are in place when the only way of definitley stopping transmission from those places are to lock their doors.
Ooooooooooo Bullpoop yeeeeeeeh...

I bet you were crap at CluedoHave you noticed how all the Labour supporting areas correspond to all the high Covid infection areas and the areas where no one gives a toss about social distancing.....just an observation.....
Come on Davie, even you must realise, people have to earn a living.None of that is a sure fire way of avoiding transmission. It just means that the minimum requested of that sector is carried out while they carry on their fundamental task of taking cash off customers.
