By the way, what about the pub that is the fulcrum of the local community, that has darts teams, footy teams, is a meeting place for the elderly and retired, organises charity nights, I could go on and on.

We get it, you see the hospitality industry as this massive capitalist machine, whose only aim is to bleed its unruly proletarian customers dry.

Maybe if you actually went into a well run community pub for once, you’d actually see and experience the reality, rather than what your Morning Star tells you a pub is.
It must be said, the ‘reality’ that exists in Dave’s head does sound like some amazing Mad Maxesque hellscape that I’d be fully on board with.

Have you noticed how all the Labour supporting areas correspond to all the high Covid infection areas and the areas where no one gives a toss about social distancing.....just an observation.....
Very tasteful trying to make capital from the fact that the poor are statistically affected more, and true to form, the particular point you made has no substance. Nice one.

I don't know about you, but I'm glad I live on the outskirts of a small village, and mainly WFH.

Living in cramped inner city accommodation, perhaps a tower block, with lots of poorly paid carers, cleaners, delivery people and other workers who have been commuting throughout- sharing lifts, doors and facilities- takes it to another level, especially when shielding someone.

But yeah, let's blame the poor because I'm such an arsehole I couldn't admit I voted for a bunch of useless grifters.

A meeting in Pete’s pub

Had a squizz at the Belgian figures from the last 2 weeks that are driving our 2nd lockdown.

Theres been an up tick of cases from about 80 a day to 450 a day which has correlated almost precisely with testing being widely available. Those cases were obviously there before, we just know about them now.

The more interesting part is that of the 10,300 cases in the country currently only 54 are listed as "serious/critical" and the death rate is completely static at between 1 and 5 per day.

This isn't a second a wave you fools, it's what your strategy working looks like. Can I go back to the practice room now?

And skint, so probs not safer because mental health will be in gutter
As they used to say "pull yourself together man". You'd never have survived the post war austerity period, the financial and industrial crashes of the 70s and 80s. This young generation have not a clue about "hard times".

As someone who is 27 and probably falls within the young generation, I'm not sure I agree. It's not an easy time for young people to be entering the job market, and those losing jobs or being furloughed tend to be disproportionately in the younger bracket. We've had to put our lives on hold as much as everyone else.

I'm not complaining about it or wanting any sympathy by the way. We're very lucky on the whole to live in such a well off country and have the basics of food on the table etc, but it's a bit daft to say young people don't know anything "hard times". We'll be paying off the debt from this pandemic for the rest of our working lives.

Bet your old
Like greame souness, bitter looking at the youngsters
