Running the risk of not wanting to sound panicky here...moo. Or soiling my pants...moo. Now the horse has definitely fled, the barn door is open and hopefully we have toilet paper stocked up. Once we've started the final solution, I mean placing the boomers home.

What is the next step, forced endless re-runs of friends, cheers? Virtual GoT Kumbya recitals? Or an emergency meeting of our respective government branches. Or is that too panicky?

Sorry, but the way this virus is being presented like it’s highly lethal to everyone is a crock. It’s deadly to a very specific group of people who are also at risk every cold and flu season, yet there’s absolutely nothing done differently at those times.

We are now setting a precedent that with every outbreak we should be enacting the same measures. Anything else is a betrayal of people.

Some of the reporting suggests that, but the danger with this virus is all about the load it is going to put on the health service.

Have a bad smash in your car, a coronary or get diagnosed with some other life threatening condition in the next few months and it may well be that you’ll experience far worse than you would at normal times because of a lack of intensive care beds / staff / hospital facilities.

I hope the outcome of this is that our government in particular learns that the NHS must have a lot of spare capacity for things like this, and that we as a society learn to lynch the next politician who comes along talking about making the NHS leaner, more businesslike and all the rest of things that are about to get people killed.

It's ridiculous what people are doing in the US. They're causing a shortage. I was out tonight and some guy was bragging about the toilet paper he had and how he's gonna sell it because he stocked.

I'm a wipe my ass with 5's before I give that ef a bleepin dime.
Personal responsibility it's a libertarian yet dream all this, save your 5s and get a bidet...

I'm more worried that you're in legal possession of a fire arm than I am by coronavirus

Ahh so the majority of your posts referring to ‘our strategy’ ‘our democratically appointed officials’ etc in reference to the UK, have been a crock of crap then?

America is a democratic republic, the UK is a constitutional democracy. Does that help?

Your kidding right, this lot have been constantly warned for years about this happening By chance they have got lucky with the correct flu vaccination being used. It was sooner rather than later...

It's more that it's highly contagious and that it's far more likely that those specific people will get sick and die if society doesn't pull it's finger out.

The next one may well be lethal to more people

It appears that you're operating under the understanding that the virus can be stopped by keeping people in a permanent state of lock down. The chief medical officer seems to be operating under the understanding that this isn't going to happen, and the best way to protect the most vulnerable people until a vaccine is developed is to do this. Please don't get dragged in by people like Sentinel, who appears to be soiling his pants in panic. Now isn't the time to be following such people or being dragged down by them. Stay strong. Follow the instructions.

Surely the plan should be doing whatever it takes to hide the vulnerable away until the vaccine hits human testing staged instead of what is being proposed.

That wasn’t the question was it? You’ve made a load of references to the situation in the UK like it directly effects you, when that really isn’t true at all.

In essence, you have stirred the pot to create drama online. You are a Drama Queen.
