And really, I was being flip earlier. I should have said I’ll put up with wearing my mask so some else doesn’t end up with a tube down their throat.

A non N95 mask isn’t going to protect the wearer too much, but throwing a mask on will help decrease the chance of spread. There is data to show that. Obviously wearing them correctly.

If wearing a mask and following other guidelines was only about protecting the person wearing it, I’d not care what folks did. You’re life, etc, etc.
But the lack of empathy for others; simply not caring if you give a person a potentially deadly disease, I am will never understand that

You have said you wear yours correctly but also accept a lot do not. If it’s not medical grade you risk more spread through secondary contamination because you will touch and fiddle with the mask. Distance and hygiene for me but I fear tomorrow‘s decision will counter that. Absolutely no lack of empathy here

UPDATE FROM AMERICA

At long last large swaths of this country are starting to take this pandemic seriously. Wha changed, u asked? 120,000 dead? @#$% no they are all poors and oldz. Its the realization that the college football season might be in jeopardy.

So how are we gonna tackle this tragedy? Well its obvious, by listening to the pandemic experts of sportstalk radio suggesting that we infect all the players w/ covid well before the season starts (this is a real thing, really).

What the hells going on in North Wales... seems like they’re experiencing big outbreaks of the virus.

I thought the Welsh government were being extra careful with extended lockdown rules.

TBH I've already told the missus that we're only going out on nice days when we can sit outside to start with. Best err on the side of caution until we see what happens with infection rates. Also, if a bar is too full most people my age I'm sure will just walk away. Younger ones are a different matter as they aren't affected quite the same so won't have the fear factor.

I tend to agree with you and try and stay outdoors when socialising whenever possible. I was inside a bar for the first time the other week and I was absolutely bricking it. Meanwhile there were some 60+ year-olds there without a care in the world.

Yep there was a big outbreak last week. 1500 infections in a meat processing plant out of 7000 employees.
