Sorry, I must have confused your affiliation with someone else's. :hayee:

Never been a member of any party mate.

I did vote for them last GE, but that was purely Brexit based. I wanted the constipated parliament that we had back then, christ, seems a different world now, pooing again.

Even though I wanted to stay in the EU, democracy had spoken, and they were the only party offering that.

There's a virologist based at Cambridge University called Chris Smith who is absolutely brilliant at explaining things in simple English. He's quite often on TV, not sure if you've ever seen him.

He was on BBC news this morning explaining the risks involved in moving social distancing to 1m. He said 1m SD reduces the risk of catching the disease by 94%, and 2m SD reduces the risk by 97%. So looked at from another perspective, by moving from 2m to 1m SD, you're increasing the risk of infection from 3% to 6%, so yeah doubling it.

Every time I listen to Chris Smith I get this feeling of the scientists have some idea what they're doing, and then I come in here. lol
Ha Ha Ha.

Is this him?

Utter clown.

I have just noticed my finger nails look nice and long, ish, and quite a picture. Must be 3 months of washing me hands about 10 times a day.

I bought Mrs R some nail polish stuff the other day when she asked me to. Tempted, not gonna lie.

Just been to Walmart... my first trip since this all started. Middle of the workday and busier than I expected. I was definitely the minority in a mask. Workers have them, but many not wearing them correctly. Not following the directions down aisles. It appears to most that the pandemic is over.
And therein is the problem. They are seldom worn correctly and give the wearers a false sense of confidence in getting close to others. They also get touched far more often than you would normally touch your face with subsequent possibility of cross contamination. I feel for the poor sods on the frontline doing Long shifts. Poor use of PPE is often worse than none at all.

I had to wear one twice in the ICU. So they were proper ones. Took a trained nurse to make sure they were fitted properly. I felt like a complete divvie, but it aint just lobbing a cloth over your grid.

It's the same here. Everyone is back to normal and those of us obeying the protocols and advice are like you say defo in the minority now.

You in Merica? Cos in my little corner of the UK, while loads have opened shops and stuff, everyone are still social distancing and spraying trollies and baskets and that.

I’ll rely on hygiene and distance first unless the coming 1m rule includes compulsory use. Won’t trust a bit of cloth or paper to keep me safe though
