Wonder how the weather affects the spread of the virus??

Will the Autumn / Winter seasons bring it back with a vengence??

PHE just released their guidance on Covid19 and Heatwaves - coping with heat etc.

Oddly the plan for heatwave hasn't changed since the 2014 plan despite them saying last year it would be. They've just maintained the same plan and just issued complimentary guidance for Covid19.

Thanks Bruce. Very timely. Lots of review at trust, local and regional level to understand the different approaches and reasons for variation.

It will be interesting to interrogate the data in more detail to establish if there is difference between different local pathways and increased mortality. For example, if one pathway suggests discharge to care home at a particular stage or admission occurs at different points.

It's a double edged sword. We desperately need the custom down here, but because we've been so sheltered from the virus (only about 180 deaths in total) there's a real risk of a second spike down here

I should imagine that all the businesses will do their utmost to make sure everything is safe. As we`ve seen, it`s some of the public that are the problem.

As @LouReedwalkonthewildside says, we`re planing to enjoy our stay, but are prepared to stay on the site if the beaches are stupid and then go out later on, when all the day trippers are gone.

It`s a big woodland site, so it`s not too much of a hardship and tbh, having a holiday in some form will be enough.

One thing`s for sure, we won`t be going anywhere like Padstow or Newquay

Doesn't anyone care about covid-19 anymore?

Over the past week or two I haven't seen anyone really questioning the mass gatherings going on around the country. We are still in a pandemic and yet , nothing on social media , nothing in the news , like covid-19 doesn't exist anymore.

When the government announced people could start going out more there was backlash from so many sources. People vented their anger at the thought that the government would be foolish enough to allow covid-19 to spread again.

Yet when people mass gather in the name of a protest , not a word. Not even from the government to really clamp down on it .

Is this not a little bit odd? Why don't people care about it? These protests could kill people and noone cares.

In fact , these black lives matter protests could kill black people as they are apparently more at risk from the virus. Is this so important that people would happily risk killing those they are meant to be supporting? Kill their grandparents , sick people?

Mate I've not seen a single article condeming the actions going on. I see covid stories and buried further down I see protest stories. Not one comment saying that these people out there could be killing people. Not a word.

Personally, I'll be getting abroad if possible. Already have two holidays cancelled because of this!

Based on my own experience, albeit limited, the prevailing attitude seems to be that the worst is over, and the things are and should return to "normal" as a result.

There seems to be a definite shift in terms of people deciding to assume their own levels of responsibility and risk (or not) rather than go with whatever the direction of government and science is. The problem of unclear and mixed messages continues to be a major issue, and you get the impression that goverment is now riding on the coat-tails of doubt and uncertainty from the scientific community to encourage a faster re-opening of society and appease business interests.

I'm not surprised but I'm the sort of person that would much prefer to err on the side of caution - this virus is not beaten and as such, people need to be ever more vigilant now that the guidance is more suggestive than directive.

I'm not on about here. I'm on about social media , news outlets etc. I read them daily with the odd scroll through Facebook and haven't seen anyone calling the gatherings at what they are right now, potentially killing people. If not that then the potential to spread the virus to others who aren't out there protesting.
