Wonder how the weather affects the spread of the virus??
Will the Autumn / Winter seasons bring it back with a vengence??

Choosing not to close and increase the regulation of the borders at every single stage of the progression of this virus were political decisions. It pissed down by us last night, 'kin Tories
There was a report out today that there are 73000 at risk in Cornwall. Doesn't sound much in the whole scheme of things with possibly over a million jobs going, but that's 27%, over a quarter of the total jobs in Cornwall. We may have been very lucky down here as regards the virus itself, but boy are we gping to pay the price on the economic side.
Personally I think it could bounce back within a couple of years, especially if more people start holidaying at home as a result of this.

We're missing going to Cornwall. We bought a second hand caravan (no laughing at the back) a good few years back and we have it permanently on a site in Poundstock. We always used to rent a little bungalow in Widemouth bay but it was that expensive to rent and for the amount of times we went we decided to get the caravan.
Considering how busy it would be this time of the year the holiday trade must be struggling something terrible.
Dunno. Dont think anyone does.
I was labouring under the assumption that if we had say two weeks with no new infections, then it kinda dies off cos it has nothing to live on. It makes sense to my pea sized brain, but could just lie dormant somewhere I suppose.
Funny you should mention Cornwall, as I`ve just had an email from the site we stay at in North Cornwall, saying that all being well, they`ll be open for business on the first week of July and to keep am eye on the website for the official re opening![]()
I can't help but antropomorphize it in my head. At the moment it's running through Brazilian streets in a Bolsanaro t-shirt and webbing everyone while constantly checking its watch to see if its time to head back across the Atlantic

Haha. You get the impression that Brazil has copped it bad, and that Merica has packed up trying to do stuff now. All we can do is do what we are, and gently get back to some sort of normal as and when.
Brazil sadly becoming an example of what happens with barely any commitment to lockdown. Their numbers are going to skyrocket, and I'd say we don't even know the half of it already
Some discussion about this at the moment. Feeling being that while winter puts more people in doors, if people stay in homes and continue distancing, then it could alleviate some of the impact of usual flu.Probably not directly, but when it gets colder, people will meet indoors so if there's still transmission going on, it's almost bound to tick up.
At that point, test and trace, and the infamous lesser spotted app will hopefully be enough to keep it under control.
It's a double edged sword. We desperately need the custom down here, but because we've been so sheltered from the virus (only about 180 deaths in total) there's a real risk of a second spike down hereFunny you should mention Cornwall, as I`ve just had an email from the site we stay at in North Cornwall, saying that all being well, they`ll be open for business on the first week of July and to keep am eye on the website for the official re opening![]()
Yep. Tim (?) Vicary on Talksport most weeks is pretty scathing, and frightened, about their response. If/when it takes hold in the Rio slums, utter carnage.
