How can Ikea open tomorrow whilst other 'non-essential' stores have to wait another 2 weeks?
China is actually ace, honestly i dont think people have caught up to the idea, the west isnt were its at any more, China are probably the greatest global power now, they arent emerging they are here or a hairs breath from being here and growing exponentially. Some of the stuff they have done and continue to do over the last 20 years is breathtaking and so innovative, not without critique though, but i often feel people generally underestimate China, its not going to do them any favors.
The virus will take an accounting of the pecking order and some old school power brokering nations wont be happy with the outcome.
I will always agree with a post that is correct. A lot of the rest of you need to raise your game though.....

I regard my fellow cyclists as decent people at the best of times. Most are now, but I've seen some right 'kin bellends on my travels in the last couple of months too. Overtaking: I EXPECT to get a couple of metres wide berth, as I give anyone else if I overtake. And I've seen relatively few cyclists with any face covering on. It's difficult wearing them in this weather, but that's where we are, so put one on.Interesting out in the lanes this morning. I went out around 6.30, and it was pretty quiet. As I was riding back in around 10 I don't think I've ever seen so many cyclists. By and large, that's great, but there were a few fairly large groups, with a few riding 4 abreast down a pretty narrow lane, and an awful lot more riding 2 abreast. Great to see people out on their bikes and all, but a bit of basic road craft and manners for everyone else on the roads would be great. I can see there being tension between 4 and 2 wheels today.

they’ve just announced that the capacity is 200,000 a day.....
was that before or after the advert for the bridge?

The more I live and see how much of a BS system we have in the so called liberal west, the more I'm beginning to think that good order and stability and growth are preferable. The authoritarianism of the CCP I could not live with, however.
I'm not sure China have any desire to influence the world in the way of the American-led liberal order of the last 100 years. Their global ambitions mainly be to ensure China benefits, not to spread their doctrine around the world. With Trump pulling back from that role himself, it does leave something of a vacuum, but I'm not sure China will fill it as they don't appear to have any desire to do so.
