You’ve just tried to use some Hokey Cokey calculation that because the R is at 1 it’s therefore unsafe to go for a walk outside while social distancing. The science is quite clear, at 2 metres and outdoors you are at little to no risk of contracting the disease.

General advise does not fit the bill. You'd have people killed with that as a universal plan. You are reiterating the government line that has been rubbished by a number of scientists who dispprove of the easing of the lockdown.

You must live in the wilderness and not a large town. Get your head in the real world...it's the one where people are dying from Covid19.

No, I think the vast majority live in congested towns and cities and will place themselves in harms way by being enticed outside by politicians who dont live in the environment that most people live in and who dont give a flying one if those shielding people live or die. It doesn't need to be a beach; just a walk past a few nobheads who dont cover their stupid grids with a face covering will do it.

I live in Barnet. But yeah, wilderness.

I went for a walk yesterday, through parkland and woods. It was easy to social distance.

All you do is slate people and spread horrible negative thoughts on here. Everybody is stupid or bad or a murderer. Nobody can act in a sensible way.

Interesting out in the lanes this morning. I went out around 6.30, and it was pretty quiet. As I was riding back in around 10 I don't think I've ever seen so many cyclists. By and large, that's great, but there were a few fairly large groups, with a few riding 4 abreast down a pretty narrow lane, and an awful lot more riding 2 abreast. Great to see people out on their bikes and all, but a bit of basic road craft and manners for everyone else on the roads would be great. I can see there being tension between 4 and 2 wheels today.

Going outside in an environment with a reproduction number at or near 1 (and probably over 1 in many localities in the north west of England) is not sound advice.

It's way too general an approach.

Look at the enormous amount of tools now not observing social distancing...and certainly not covering their stupid 'kin faces. It's too dangerous for those being shielded to go out. Stay indoors.

What an utter disgrace of a government this is.

This whilst the virus is still infecting thousands daily and killing hundreds daily.

Simples really herd immunity won't happen if vulnerable sheilding people stay locked up. Get COVID done! Thousands more will die but think of the Great British Economy. Then we can continue with Get Brexit done!
