Almost everyone near me seems to be hosting a little mini celebration...
Not happening near me from what I've noticed but can imagine it is happening a lot .People will be thinking what's the difference between today or wait till Monday especially with the weather being nice .

I see Tory MPs want to reduce the distance to 1.5 metres, great let's all get our tape measures out to ensure we have only taken the extra 50cm. All that does is let some people take more liberties.

How about the policy just be try and give the maximum space possible, outside on non busy days that could be 8/9 meters, on busier days 3/4m, inside small shops you may be quite close but you have the decision whether or not to go in.

You can just see the I'm alright Jack's pitching their picnic blankets exactly 1.5 meters from someone, or coughing in the back of your head in a queue if those are THE rules.

well the answer is none isn’t it really ? It’s hard to tell someone you can have people around to the garden Monday , that’s safe , but Saturday that’s a no no . It’s like when someone won’t eat a sell by best before item after midnight but 11.55 is ok .

I’m not saying I’m hosting an event or even advocating it but an arbitrary deadline Particularly whilst government advisors have interpreted the guidelines to suit themselves are clearly going to lead to situations like this .

You have obviously been there.

Guilty, but it is the nearest beach to me discounting Burnham/Berrow/Brean and I do have family and friends living there so kind of forced too. Although it's still rare that I go, couldn't imagine many things worse than spending an extended period of time in wsm. Saying that I did used to enjoy the nightlife back in the 90's.

Or I could help my friend's business and enjoy a drink in an environment considered safe by the city and regional government in a social setting for the first time since March the 13th.

Shame on you, you should be sat at home on your Tod, telly turned off because of the Tory death rays, reading this weeks edition of the Daily Death, Murder and Scum, whilst glugging no name supermarket lager.

As someone who has lost a loved one as a result of this virus, I believe that the the emoji at the end of that sentence should be a bannable offense.

Im sorry that you took my comment the wrong way.

Just for clarity, I wasn’t poking fun at those impacted by the virus... I was merely laughing at the incompetent politicians who have been laughing at us all throughout this dreadful time.

I apologise if you got the wrong end of the stick and I offer my sincere condolences for your loss.

What are people's thoughts on the furlough situation? I'm inclined to think that it's akin to an extended redundancy period, with a great many of those jobs that are currently furloughed going to be permanent redundancies eventually, yet I get a sense that many of those on it are treating them like an extended holiday and normal work will resume eventually. Could be a rude awakening when the furlough scheme ends, especially as many still seem to be operating under the belief that this virus will be a single wave and then done.
Yeah been speaking to a couple of clients this week who’ve experienced exactly this. One was a surveyor who anticipates he will not be able to find work again in this field for over a year

Bloody hope not. I've only just had my inflatable Peter Crouch delivered so I can have him beside me in the park, if they change it to 1.5m I'll have to cut off below his knees.

That's just silly tbh. No one gets a tape measure out when they pass someone in the street. You just have to try and be sensible and stay as far away as you can. If I can pass someone 10 feet away rather than 6 then I do it. People have to be given more responsibility and encouraged to take charge of distancing.
