I see Tory MPs want to reduce the distance to 1.5 metres, great let's all get our tape measures out to ensure we have only taken the extra 50cm. All that does is let some people take more liberties.

How about the policy just be try and give the maximum space possible, outside on non busy days that could be 8/9 meters, on busier days 3/4m, inside small shops you may be quite close but you have the decision whether or not to go in.

You can just see the I'm alright Jack's pitching their picnic blankets exactly 1.5 meters from someone, or coughing in the back of your head in a queue if those are THE rules.

That's purely a business lobbied 1.5m, get the lazy wasters back to work surely?

8000 cases a day and back to school Monday...

Is the furlough scheme ending in August? Thought bozo said it would be extended to end of October. Who is lying?

Being extended, but with employers having to chip in as well. Self Employed scheme as well, but at slightly reduced rates.

In August employers will have to pay employees national insurance and pension contributions, then 10% of employees wage in September and 20% in October.

ive said in here before I spoke to lads who do security tell me how Liverpool city centre or Cheshire oaks work with 2m queues ? They don’t , they queues will merge . From a pub or more specifically restaurant point of view just work it out in your head , you’ll be lucky to get A couple of tables in there . It’ll be a business decision , I understand it but it’ll be for that reason along with practicality .

And all the money spent on signage and stickers which say 2m now needs to be spent again saying 1.5m.
Utterly pointless.

no argument mate , it might stay but personally I can’t see it . The whole thing feels like the government are like a poor Football manager following and reacting not anticipating and leading .

Is it just my town that isnt doing this?

The parks here are rammed tbh- Sefton and Calderstones in particular. Most people trying to keep their distance from each other in fairness, but then you get groups of people (at least 10) all crammed together. Maybe they’re all from the same household...

It's been 1.5m here in Belgium since March. In practice, they're probably just trying to find a safe way to have slightly more people in shops and such.
