I dont think it's down enough to start up the economy again and ease limits on family gatherings etc though. This is a recipe for disaster.

To be fair, this situation is the perfect cure for the anti-vaxxers. If a vaccine is discovered, let covid wipe all the cretins out, and let all the people with common sense carry on with their lives.

Certainly a risk, if our figures are anything to go by the most likely place to pick it up the virus is at home amongst family. I’m beginning to think there will be some respite in the summer, then a second surge in Sep/Oct. I think generally people minimise the impact protective measures have had on this, social distancing is massively powerful as are face coverings, they really minimise the risk, but will be critical in opening up.

There is a school of thought of the virus might burn itself out based on the protective measures, but as you say that depends on compliance but also the conditions opening up creates, a packed tube wouldn’t be appealing say, but likely necessary for many. There in lies the conundrum in ongoing management of this. Society’s demands Vs personal safety.
