It would surely help if more politicians actually understood science rather than being philosophy graduates. Merkel is an obvious example, and her leadership is fantastic on so many levels.
Incidentally, just reading a paper from Georgia State saying that older men are typically less concerned about covid, despite being in the high risk group, with this resulting in weaker adherence to protective measures. Now, the interesting thing is that there has also been a broad correlation between Republicans/Democrats and adherence, with Republicans less likely to be so. I wonder if there's a correlation, as certainly here, the older you are, the more likely you are to be a conservative.

I did see that article although the majority of reading I did seemed to identify false negative as more of a potential issue .
it’s obviously a new disease and a new test but the test is currently phe and fda approved I believe.
I think there has been quite a few countries in this time of crisis we need to look at and ask why have they coped far better than the UK. Obviously certain ideologies won't be very palatable in a particular country, but hopefully we can look at them dispassionately and take some positive lessons forward (this won't happen)
