Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

It's easy to be concerned about the reasons for the very careful and gradual lifting of lockdown if done too quickly costing lives.

The truth is it's nowhere near as black and white as that, the lives and livelihoods lost by extending it longer than absolutely necessary are on the other side of the ledger.

The disasterous spike in deaths from non coronavirus conditions, and for most people far more serious illnesses has to be thought of, delays to cancer treatments or non attendance at GP referrals, serious heart disease and other fatal conditions have all spiked. The reallocation of resources really can't come quick enough. Already an awful lot of consultants and doctors have been told to take their annual leave due to them now, while this coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of operations, allows them to - as they'll be rushed off their feet once all these very serious non coronavirus operations are scheduled and resources are spread more evenly on need and not media attention.

The cost to lives of deteriorating mental health for some and a wrecked economy for all with sky high borrowing can't be underestimated either, both in livelihoods and actual lives lost.

It's not as simple as extending lockdown saves lives, by going on too long it could easily cost them.

Whitty and Vallance followed their own/the governments preferred herd immunity agenda orchestrated by Cummings presence and contributions on SAGE. The government own the incompetent and inhumane response to this virus and the two prominent 'experts' contributed to this as the public face of the 'medical and scientific advice'.

Hancock ramping up the postal kits - 52 000 plus today, to 'achieve' Johnson's announcement of 200 000 'tests' per day by the end of May - that's 2 days to go. I wonder how many of the 20 000 care workers, announced and promised by Johnson, have been recruited so far? Promises, promises and lies and lies.

No wonder Sheffield council and others aren't opening their school;s because they don't believe the bull coming for Johnson, Hancock and the 'experts'. And the government 5 tests haven't been met.

Sheffield City Council advises against schools reopening on ...
