Love the way you're happy to ignore a Labour MP breaking lockdown while calling for a ministers 'aide' to get sacked.

I guess you don't see any hypocrisy in that?
I haven't fecking ignored it. Wasn't it a VE day party with the plods in attendance and social distancing rules observed? I personally don't think he was right...as for kinnock, he can be fired from a cannon into the sun for all I care.
I haven't been over my front door since 13/3/....but enjoy your day

Don't really get how you having to isolate has anything to do with what we're talking about.

Cummings adds nothing at all to the Coronavirus Pandemic response. Not even a little bit. The only thing he does do is act like a crutch for Boris Johnson. Johnson knows that without the techniques that Cummings picked up during his lengthy stay in Russia he would be nowhere near the position he is currently in. Brexit has become of DomCums design, it is only there now so that he can complete his project and get paid his monies. John son would be left remarkably exposed if Cummings was to go, hence him burning through a huge amount of political capital to keep hold of DomCum.

SpAds get binned all the time and rarely without a whimper, for things far, far less that what DomCum has done.

All this about keeping hold of our sovereignty, "Its democracy pal, deal with it", what we've been left with is a Govt. that are so utterly incapable of telling the truth and following rules/instruction, that one of them told the public that he has taken his wife for a drive on occasion to try his eyesight out, just because Cummings lied about it as well.

I can;t hold it against the people who voted for these charlatans, cause there is absolutely no way that they did it thinking that it would end up this bad, and a country that is so devoid of strategy it's criminal.

Well said. An interesting read about project/strategy

Whilst the current story over Dominic Cummings erupts and boils over around the mainstream media and social media, this government have, in the same week given our agricultural industry away to the Americans, crossed a red-line with a new EU border and are handing hundreds of billions of cash and state assets over to corporations in secret deals – under cover of non-disclosure agreements. The stench of corruption is nauseating if you care to look.

Award-winning Observer columnist Carole Cadwalladr who bravely brought us the Cambridge Analytica scandal – tries to spell out this Cummings story and what’s going on.

As well as this bit

If the Tories had reacted to the Covid-19 crisis and thrown their protective ring around the vulnerable and those in care homes as they did with Cummings we would have seen a different outcome to the sheer scale of death that this virus has brought to Britain. But this government wants chaos, this is THE modus operandi of Dominic Cummings and Boris Johnson – as they both believe no real change, can come without it.

What do you think to these people who went against the guidelines?

They're idiots.

I imagine most of them are calling for Cummings to resign too.

I think he should have to resign. Point is, loads of people are really getting on their high horse over this when I bet many have broken some lockdown rules in one way or another. People in the picture are a good example.

yes

how many of them imposed the lockdown on us all? or had other people removed for breaches of the lockdown?

I think you'll find the vast vast majority of people haven't 'broken some lockdown rules' as the queues outside shops show, not going to family (driving or walking), not having family around to help with child care , only taking one exercise, not driving to take exercise etc.. Those people on Wesminster Bridge along with the police and ambulance paramedics are not the ones that make the 'rules' Cummings is. One rule for him and another for the rest of us.

That's a good point.

But if people want Cummings out then any MP that has broken lockdown rules should have to resign, regardless of their party.

I think it's important that anyone representing the country is held to the same level of accountability.

I think the reason people are getting on their high horses isn’t specifically because of what Cummings did, which was bad, it’s the embarrassing and insulting way the people who gave us the original instruction to Stay At Home are defending him. The pantomime of the bank holiday weekend is yet another new low for this country and we’ve had many episodes over the last 5 years.

Cummings was essentially mocking us all throughout that rose garden press conference. And what makes it worse is that senior leaders in government are defending the charade.

I can see a marked difference between an MP driving home from Westminster to self isolate at the first opportunity or an MP engaging in community activities* as part of their role Vs someone driving across the country to celebrate their wife's birthday.

Others have displayed poor judgement or interpreted things loosely, but few are the ones presenting the message, enforcing an interpretation of that message across different communities while applying a set of criteria to themselves that the majority of the country either believe they cannot do or are legally prevented from doing.

The rent a pundits are failing to understand why the 'real people' they seem to believe they speak on behalf of can see the difference but they can't.
