Some of the comments in the replies are poor form. Rishi has done nothing wrong during the pandemic and it is his generous 80% furlough scheme that has allowed all those moaning in the responses to sit safely in their gardens necking Peroni's for the past 2 months.

Lets hope Rishi isnt vindictive and turns off the tap that'll sure shut Karen and Linda up wont it.
It’s not his money y’know

"so would you...get hip to this kindly tip

You can get your kicks (like Dom)

They're idiots.

I imagine most of them are calling for Cummings to resign too.

I think he should have to resign. Point is, loads of people are really getting on their high horse over this when I bet many have broken some lockdown rules in one way or another. People in the picture are a good example.
How many of those sat on the sage committee or ruling government?

On top of that there are a lot of assumptions in your argument.

Downing Street has defended not carrying out a review into fines issued to families who travelled to get childcare during lockdown.

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman told a Westminster briefing: “We’re confident that the police will use their common sense and discretion, they have been very clear throughout that they will explain, encourage and finally enforce fines are always used by police as a last resort.”

Maybe if Cummings was charged, convicted and paid his fine like ordinary members of the public have had to do, some of the resentment might subside.

It's the pathetic off-the-cuff attempts by various Tory spokespersons, from the PM down, to justify him that drives me mental.

NHS England has announced 183 new deaths of people who tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,049.

Of the 183 new deaths announced on Wednesday, 24 occurred on May 26, 64 occurred on May 25, and 28 occurred on May 24

The figures also show 55 of the new deaths took place between May 15 and May 23, nine took place in April and the remaining three occurred in March with the earliest on March 21.

Let’s see if Cummings gets a fine then shall we?!?

I think it's way past that now mate, and if it did happen it would almost be a "Just do it to shut the public etc up" IMO the only way all this can be repaired is if Cummings is sacked by Johnson himself, not him resign, but sacked because if he resigned Johnson would make him out to be some sort of Martyr. Also, the damage this has done to Johnson is massive because people won't forget.

I agree with this.

If the police fined him for it then this would all just go away and people would have a sense of the importance again.

To add to this the English figure is 67 up on yesterday with the accumulative number for the U.K. as a whole standing at 212 for the day, up 76 on yesterday and only from 3 of the 4 countries that make it up. It’s a high figure as expected with the weekend catch up but the risen/fallen amounts per day seem to be staying in double figures for now which is a somewhat positive
