We all know Cummings has messed up big time, he has behaved like an idiot, and any other word you have to describe him.
The thing is though we don't know how vital he is to the overall fight against the virus, he must have some massive input for him to be not sacked immediately.
Someone, somewhere as to come up with answers to defeat the virus, if we knew that Cummings has something to offer in this, would it still make sense to sack him?
I believe he should be sacked, but I do know, I am blind(as most of us are) to what he actually adds to the fight against the pandemic.
Blind hey, I hear Cummings is an expert in eye tests...

....my understanding is that the members of the Liaison Committee are the chairs of the various cross-party Select Committees. They tend to hold the interviewees to account, so I doubt it will be stacked in the PMs favour.

They normally pick a chair from among the chairs of the select committees, but Johnson boxed the chair off for one of his mates. 'Go easy on me, you know I'm not that good on detail'

"Boris Johnson is facing a “jobs for the boys” row over his plan to install a senior Tory ally as the chair of a powerful committee that scrutinises the government.

The prime minister is coming under pressure to delay or ditch plans to appoint veteran backbencher Sir Bernard Jenkin to head up the liaison committee, once the House of Commons returns from its extended Easter recess next week.

The ‘super-committee’, which is the only committee with the power to summon the prime minister before it, is made up of chairs of 37 different select committees and since 2010 has chosen its own chair from among its members.

But there is growing anger among Labour and even some Conservative MPs that Downing Street will use a whipped vote next Wednesday to effectively pick who is in charge of the body tasked with grilling the PM directly three times a year".

Someone posted earlier the article in yesterday's Times where I got my information from. They are doing their usual pretence of open scrutiny but keeping the real potential trouble-makers away, so it will be stacked in the PM's favour as much as it can be.

Some of the comments in the replies are poor form. Rishi has done nothing wrong during the pandemic and it is his generous 80% furlough scheme that has allowed all those moaning in the responses to sit safely in their gardens necking Peroni's for the past 2 months.

Lets hope Rishi isnt vindictive and turns off the tap that'll sure shut Karen and Linda up wont it.

Cummings breaking the guidelines still not going away despite the government wanting it to blow over.

A road sign that says ‘Stay Alert, Control the Virus, Save Lives’ alongside an additional sign, added by members of the public, stating ‘Except Dominic Cummings’ in Bridport, England.

The Dominic Cummings saga shows no sign of letting up and government ministers have repeatedly defended his actions as coming down to his family’s “exceptional circumstances”, ie needing childcare if both he and his wife became ill with the virus.

However, several readers have been in touch over the last few days to highlight the precise point made in this piece – that the “exceptional circumstances” clause was added to the lockdown guidelines to safeguard women and children in domestic abuse households. It stated that lockdown rules could be broken in these exceptional circumstances, to protect vulnerable people from abuse and neglect.

There is thus the perception that Cummings is exploiting a rule meant for abuse victims, and the government continues to defend him for doing so".

Well he now adds an excuse for anyone to break lockdown so I'd argue he is the least helpful person in a pandemic

More to the point. Not a single politican can do anything in the fight against the virus. The scientists can sure , the politicians simply act on what the scientists tell them. With their own spin on it of course (Tories = sod the people, get them back in work though )

Cummings adds nothing at all to the Coronavirus Pandemic response. Not even a little bit. The only thing he does do is act like a crutch for Boris Johnson. Johnson knows that without the techniques that Cummings picked up during his lengthy stay in Russia he would be nowhere near the position he is currently in. Brexit has become of DomCums design, it is only there now so that he can complete his project and get paid his monies. John son would be left remarkably exposed if Cummings was to go, hence him burning through a huge amount of political capital to keep hold of DomCum.

SpAds get binned all the time and rarely without a whimper, for things far, far less that what DomCum has done.

All this about keeping hold of our sovereignty, "Its democracy pal, deal with it", what we've been left with is a Govt. that are so utterly incapable of telling the truth and following rules/instruction, that one of them told the public that he has taken his wife for a drive on occasion to try his eyesight out, just because Cummings lied about it as well.

I can;t hold it against the people who voted for these charlatans, cause there is absolutely no way that they did it thinking that it would end up this bad, and a country that is so devoid of strategy it's criminal.
