I read in the German press yesterday that although the virus stays in the body quite a long time, it stops being contagious after a while.

Here is the excerpt from the article I read in Die Zeit newspaper:

"Because from the time when the number of viruses in the coughed up mucus of patients had dropped to one million viruses per milliliter, the pathogens were no longer able to grow on cell cultures. This means that the patients are no longer infectious, although they still carry virus particles and can, for example, still excrete in the stool for weeks."

i’m being light hearted but my shares have been decimated and I’ve got money in bars so the footy season suspension , the likely national cancellation , the parade, people staying home has already hit home . Less people out for gold cup yesterday than last year without doubt but bills still need paying . This is going to be messy
If people are in shares for the long-term like myself, I think we all appreciate that the most likely scenario is that they will ultimately rise again and so not to sell.

Whether it'll be a quick and sudden return like some suspect or a gradual process is something we'll just have to see. Pensions schemes will be hoping the former.

I've actually bought some more yesterday with some extra cash I had, but it was difficult trying to pick a company that's decreased, but won't actually go bust.

It's small businesses or the service sector (pubs, bars, cafes or restaurants like you mention) that are at real risk because can they ride out the dropped revenue?

Yeah listen I’m not expecting anything else from shares it’s long term and I was merely mentioning it as part of the conversation but it’s when combined with the potential issues over business . Money is going to be lost , zero doubt . We’ve already had the post Christmas lull and dry January hit and it doesn’t take much for places to go the wall .

As alot of viruses my cousin had something called Mollescum as a kid which basically stays in your system for months if not years and breaks out on occasions due to stress etc. but it was only "contagious" during a break out.

But that doesn't stop the Blue Tickers from whipping up further hysteria and terrifying people even more pushing them out to buy up even more mince and bog rolls.

Honestly the quicker folk just turn the tv and close twitter off and take the dog or kids for a walk on the beach or park the better way too much panic going on for my liking.

Good vibes people good vibes.

The other good thing of course is that most of those that will die will be old and most likely be Tories.

A few less Tory scum around can't be sniffed at hey lads?
I'd hope your post was slightly tongue in cheek, but the reality may be somewhat different, children on chemotherapy courses, younger people with asthma, and even those who believe they are golden may find they have an underlying health problem that is undiagnosed. Over the years there have been super fit footballers who have had heart problems which they were totally unaware of.

I can work from home and only leave it for store and all but I really miss my long walks in the city. Guess I will have to discover unpopulated areas away from people

Its cocking boring isnt it?
Boring as hell, and will only get worse I'd say.
Both me and my wife work in schools so are both off now, she has type 1 diabetes and is in an at risk category, so we've decided not to venture out too much during this, it could be a long time, there's talk that we may not be back in work until September, hopefully that won't be the case and we'll get back after Easter, we'll be fit to kill each other if it goes on much longer than that. Stay safe you I know your misses is not long out of hospital and must be in a risk category too.
