Good to see Tory infighting over how they have begun to massage Covid 19 figures.

Describes nicely how despite symptoms you won't get tested unless you can prove you have been in contact with some one with the virus...

The flaws of evidence based practice in practice!

Hope to God this isn’t true. People can have it and pass it on with no symptoms at all.

Boring as hell, and will only get worse I'd say.
Both me and my wife work in schools so are both off now, she has type 1 diabetes and is in an at risk category, so we've decided not to venture out too much during this, it could be a long time, there's talk that we may not be back in work until September, hopefully that won't be the case and we'll get back after Easter, we'll be fit to kill each other if it goes on much longer than that. Stay safe you I know your misses is not long out of hospital and must be in a risk category too.

Yep, she is. I have been paranoid to the point of obsession re cleanliness since she came home a month ago anyrate, so we are just muddling through regardless.

Best to your other half; not fun that type 1 I gather.

TBF there is no situation that Andrew Bridgen could ever be involved in that would ever be his fault.

So what. Many people already have it. I suspect many people have already had it earlier in the year before China finally admitted it. Testing doesn’t cure anything, it just feeds the number crunching. If you are not ill stop worrying. If you get a fever and then are ill then you’ve got it and depending on the severity will either be at home recovering or in hospital, either way testing will do nothing except confirm and add to the numbers. If you are ill and haven’t got a fever then you either have the flu, a cold or an allergy...

I read in the German press yesterday that although the virus stays in the body quite a long time, it stops being contagious after a while.

General consensus ( at the moment mind ), is that you'll be statistically contagious* for about seven days after you first exhibit symptoms and the virus will still be in your system for a few weeks after that.

*once you've passed the statistically contagious point, you could still pass it on to others, but it's much less likely. General rule of thumb, don't kiss or shag someone who's been infected for a good few weeks after they appear to have recovered.

Erm no, testing confirms who should be self-isolating and not walking around spreading the thing.

Please stop replying to me you’re a massive tit and you’ve not made one constructive post in this thread.

The pernicious state of our government and establishments, the parameters of their evidence is already being defined.

'The government advice for those showing mild symptoms changed on Thursday; people will no longer be tested and it is recommended they stay isolated at home.'

I would like to say his mother is of the same mind... But that would just not be correct we all make individual choices that we are entirely responsible for.

TBF it doesn't; unless you test everyone and do it repeatedly it just tells you who has it - by the time the tests been authorised (ie: after they feel ill) they've been walking around spreading it for some time.
