His job is to trash as much of the state as possible, destroy it and to make it (us) reliant on private firms who will - as we have already seen - proceed to give us all a much worse service that costs much more.

Of course his long and glorious career in private business, where he built his fortune and turned numerous companies into massive success stories, elevates him above all the hidebound civil servants.

Here we go again... why is Dominic Cummings capable to take on this enormous and complex project. And why is it being enacted in the first place?

I didn’t interview him, nor appoint him, so I haven’t a clue what he really brings to the role. However he does seem to upset certain people, so maybe he is the right man.....

He's pro Nouveau absolutism Vs any other form of social fabric that exists.

He likes to claim he is, but he is just the establishment in a hoodie - the best indicator of that is when he spent a month or so saying he wanted to recruit artists, rebels, "weirdos", people outside the system to bring in new ideas.

He ended up recruiting a political researcher who thought white people were cleverer than black people.

I believe his job is to shake up the Civil Service and rebuild it’s various departments, he’s not a spin doctor. This would explain why certain people hate him and want him gone, vested interests, and explains many of the words pouring out into the media and social media.....If he survives this, and it’s a very big if, elements of the CS will be terrified....

The civil service is much bigger than Dominic Cummings.

The challenge of Cummings will be nothing over time. Even if he doesn’t go after all this, he will be on borrowed time with a lot of people.

Why does the civil service need a shake up anyway? It’s probably the only thing keeping county together at the moment.

Cummings is tied up in all the brexit bs and also no doubt would be fingered if this Russian report were to ever be published. Surely the only reason Johnson hasn't appeared to fire him is cos they're all in so much deep stuff with each other that it cant be untangled without plenty of them Goings.

If this has done nothing else, I hope it has convinced the few remaining people who didn't already believe that it was him who was pushing the herd immunity strategy and that he really did sum up government policy at the time as “herd immunity, protect the economy, and if that means some pensioners die, too bad" that they were wrong.

Cummings arrogance and stupidity has no bearing on it IMO. Other senior ministers blind defence of his actions does not undo what the government has already done. IMO

I said this beards ago, but once you allow liars to permeate social discourse and you get people that buried in the ideology that they applaud said lies, based on nothing more than ‘it upsets the other side’.
