Sunday Times claims research suggests that Madrid game is responsible for 41 additional deaths in local hospitals alone .

Any public inquiry that is even remotely fair is going to result in Johnson's resignation as PM; the disaster he has overseen is unprecedented. An effective public inquiry would probably result in trials and jail sentences.

Also it is kind of mad that a Murdoch paper has published that, and the other Insight pieces, which have detailed some of what has been going on.

Thinking about the amount of travelling fans who watch Liverpool who’ll then have to make their way home , of Madrid fans who’ll maybe stay out of town and use nearby towns or cities as a base when you see the suggested 41 additional fatalities it’s incredibly worrying that it could just be the tip of the iceberg.

....
Lying and public complicity with those lies is what you need to force through something false like Brexit, it is not the sort of culture you should foster during a Pandemic where 60000 people have already died and you've just asked the public to consider putting their own needs aside to save the lives of others, while defending you man who told you to do it because he wanted to go and look at bluebells..

60,000....

Just wanted to post to highlight some of the amazing work done through Islamist philanthropy throughout the world, you very often see the opposite in the media. Some of the most inspirational people i have ever met have been Muslims.

It’s closer to 55k.

The totals brings the UK’s excess deaths since the week beginning March 14 to 54,522, the highest in Europe, although equivalent figures have not yet been published in Italy.

The figure is almost 20,000 more than the current running total of 34,796 Covid-19 deaths announced by the Department of Health and Social Care, which counts only those who died after testing positive for coronavirus.

The ONS data were in line with the FT model that updates the excess death numbers to the current data from hospitals. The model now suggests 61,900 more excess deaths than average in the UK between mid-March and May 19.
