Like most senior people in government, the vast majority are hated, they just have to feared or respected at the same time.

I'm wondering what point cummings is trying to make by having such a scruffy and slovenly appearance. Does he think that dressing like a trog make him rebellious or is he just such a pig that he has absolutely no care for his own look?

He'd be told to smarten up by any truly professional organisation.

I always think he dresses like any other middle aged parents. For comfort and pragmatism.

I think they might try riding this out. Shouldn’t last the week under normal circumstances but this government is built upon twisting and lying. Shapps just stopped short of saying fake news there a few times, the utter sap.

There is an Adam Curtis documentary called HyperNormalisation, it may still be on iPlayer and he talks about all of this.

From what I have read, Cummings models himself off Vladislav Surkov, who he probably met during his time in Russia. It's interesting reading how these people influence, and scary.

Cummings isn't even a member of the Tory party, he said he doesn't care about Western politics and I probably thing that's true. His social experiments have just somehow made its way up to the elected
party and not just a few mates in a pub.

It's still on iPlayer. I recommended it to someone the other day.

The thing I find the most disturbing and downright creepy are the collective copycat tweets by cabinet ministers rushing to the defence of Cummings. Scientology seems more legitimate than this bizarre Tory cult.

Just like when Boris was ill and they all repeated the same 'He's not only our boss, but our friend' line. Everything they say is spoon fed them. They can't even speak compassionately about a so called friend without being told how they feel and what to say.

I believe his job is to shake up the Civil Service and rebuild it’s various departments, he’s not a spin doctor. His job is to trash as much of the state as possible, destroy it and to make it (us) reliant on private firms who will - as we have already seen - proceed to give us all a much worse service that costs much more.

Of course his long and glorious career in private business, where he built his fortune and turned numerous companies into massive success stories, elevates him above all the hidebound civil servants.

Here we go again... why is Dominic Cummings capable to take on this enormous and complex project. And why is it being enacted in the first place?
