You think Joe Anderson knows better than the government? Schools for key workers have been carrying on as normal - any teachers dying? Nope. This is just politicking. Which I'm fine with - his choice. But to claim safety of the children in particular is absurd. Children under 10 reportedly are unaffected by the virus and don't pass it on. He's on the wrong side of this argument.

I agree 100% with the second bit, but the first bit is stretching “in an official capacity” to breaking point; he has repeatedly said he lives in the constituency, and his online material still says that.
Oh I know that. They all say that (for financial reasons).
It’s never strictly true though.

Do I think Joe Anderson knows better than the government? Over school closures, yes. Because:

"Data published today by the Office for National Statistics provides information on deaths involving COVID-19 across England and Wales, broken down by occupation.

It shows at least 65 education staff have died with coronavirus, of which 43 were women and 22 were men, as of April 20.

That includes 17 secondary school teachers, seven primary and nursery teachers, two SEND teachers, ten teaching assistants, six school lunchtime supervisors and school crossing patrols and two school secretaries".

Children do pass the virus on as they do pass on colds and other snivels. Anyone involved in an educational establishment has a duty of care to those in that establishment. Joe Anderson is right to not want to open schools up as are the unions who disagree with the government. Leave as it is, is the message from Joe Anderson and the unions.

Edit. Children and related illness due to coronavirus. Early stages.

At least 12 UK children have needed intensive care due to ...

Boris announced the lockdown on the 23rd of March Kurt. After the dates in the stuff you posted.

The MPs comments stated quite clearly they haven’t left the island since the lockdown was implemented, but that they have been living on the island since February.

Apparently his wife gave birth in Feb and she’s since been in hospital ?

Like I said, mob rule.
lol lol lol

Personally I’m in favour of actual evidence before accusing somebody of breaking the law and hounding them on Twitter. Some of the comments directed at him have been quite unsavoury, particularly when his wife has apparently been ill in Gwynedd hospital for some time.

But hey.
You had your evidence. @Kurt provided you with the anecdotal variety earlier: knowledge from the community (and it spounds like he's from the area too) but you preferred to believe two people who are political party colleagues of the MP in question.

...but hey....

Teachers and other school staff have died. There is a vast difference between a school taking in a tiny percentage of its normal intake and having them all back by the end of June which is what the Government are proposing. As for the knowing better than the Government, the DFE's own scientific advisor said yesterday there is low confidence in research that young children don't transmit, that most research indicates they transmit at the same rate as adults and that opening schools (without social distancing - again as per the government guidance) potentially puts hundreds of virus vectors in a small area before then sending them back out into the community.

Joe Anderson is very much on the right side of this argument, especially given the high incidence in the Liverpool area.

This is a bit much, Dave - we don’t know what the truth is, so no one should dive off into blaming anyone yet or assume that because of what his colleague said he is in the clear.

I guess we’ll only know one way or the other at the next election, when he insists he’s always lived in his constituency since being its MP and that anyone who says otherwise is part of the lunatic Trotskyist-Starmerist-Islamist tendency.

The point was that, because it was the words of locals, @Kurt 's evidence was discounted as highlighting the work of 'mob rule', whereas there was an acceptance by him that the words of 2 MPs were unassailable....which is obviously utter bollocks.

Test approved last week.

The company says they can supply hundreds of thousands a week, yet doesnt say we have ordered any.........................................

Horrible death cult.

I'm sure this is the test that the Germans have already placed an order for 5 million and are just waiting for delivery, yet we are still trying to negotiate a deal.
