Who?
Some ex Labour MP.....Andrew something.......
No Government no matter what its ideology can afford to let its banking system collapsejust looked on wikipedia Gordon Brown payed out £850 billion to bail out the banks due to the financial crash of 2008.
So I think it stands to reason that, if he did not we would not have had austerity. We simply could not let the banks
fail. But under capitalism we should have let them fail.I'm confused.com.
While it's obviously not this simple, I can see two things happening:The plan is that there's no plan on safety.
It's now a matter of pacifying big business (especially the financial institutions) and getting the furlough ended and managing the national debt.
As an island Britain was better placed to deal with the pandemicTBF France might be a bit of an outlier in that it appears to have handled this relatively well, but got a savage death rate anyway.
It is a bit of a silly message though "Stay Alert".
Should have been "Keep Your Distance", much clearer message and an instruction that really matters.
I think those tests are useful to get NHS workers/vital workers back to work, but largely pointless for a general population.
Populist measures and a blag to claim testing is happening.
Only worthwhile tests for the general population IMO, is the blood tests.
No, you see, and don't worry I know you don't your own stance from one day to the next*, but at the time you were proclaiming this pandemic Government scare mongering, had they enforced a lockdown you would've just changed your 'murderers' line to 'facists'.You see, this is where you went wrong: there was NO lockdown in place at that time.
In a lockdown it should have been total and totally enforced.
What a great outcome.Of course it is. You may not get paid, but if you believe you will die going to work then refuse to go....
