Welcome back Wayne
Is that really an option for people who will be pressured by their managers and employer to do so?
Don't be naive
Of course it is. You may not get paid, but if you believe you will die going to work then refuse to go....

You see, this is where you went wrong: there was NO lockdown in place at that time.Ok. I'm sure you wouldn't have had any issue with the army and the police on UK streets to enforce a lockdown for a pandemic which, at that at that point, you were saying was 'hyped up' by the same Government.
I'll say what I say to @peteblue, keep drinking the Kool Aid
The instructions of the UK Government have already been rejected by the 3 of those 4 countries.
It’s a uk government in name alone pete.... Scotland, wales and Ireland gave all given different instructions nationally ..... all johnson is worried about (or Cummings and the Erg should I say) is the financial implications...... what’s a few thousand more deaths when you can make millions profiteering from this ?
He runs a devolved authority. It's his call.Burnham doesn’t run a country. Devolution allows the separate nations control over health matters, these are not powers delegated to other failed politicians.....
I think those tests are useful to get NHS workers/vital workers back to work, but largely pointless for a general population.
Populist measures and a blag to claim testing is happening.
Only worthwhile tests for the general population IMO, is the blood tests.

Fond memories of Mevagissey, and the environs... Gorran Haven, St Ewe, Heligan etc... Do you know if the Ship Inn is still in Meva? Like the idea of folk meeting up (socially distanced of course). Hopefully at some stage we will all be able to get together more....have no idea when that will be, unfortunately. Certainly don't trust the shower of incompetents in charge atm to guide this country towards this aim.My brother concurs.
He lives near Mevagissy, and a few of the villagers meet most nights for beers and that around the war memorial. All very distanced, and keep each other sane.
Oh I get it.... we don’t matter.The nations have delegated authority over health matters, so they can do whatever they wish. Boris may we’ll be worried about the financials, but someone has to. Scotland, Wales and NI make almost no difference to the overall U.K. financial picture anyway, and they know that if the screw up their own economies then the overall U.K. will just bail them out. So it’s the easy way to just say ‘stay at home’, but someone at sometime has to start generating the cash to pay for it all......
Yep - never understood the obsession for this particular strand of testing

Just waiting on that Kopite Rotherham to find his balls now.
It goes back to what I said here though mate;
A lot of it is tribalism and being deliberately obtuse.
There's no perfect solution or fix, but its common sense to me that they'll gradually ease restrictions. Take the first point;

4 year olds are dependant/parents who need to go to work.
University students can study remotely.
Will any country allow all schools and all year groups/students to return the same day?! That would seem foolish to me.
