The way I see it, they've sought to suppress it to allow the NHS to cope. At some stage, they need to begin easing the lockdown, don't they?

They were always going to ease lockdown gradually and in stages.

It was always going to be conditional and reactive to what's happening.

What did people expect? Lockdown until a possible vaccine? Or one day the whole UK would just go back to how it was?

If the government are wrong, what else should they do? People say "stay locked down for a bit longer", but until when? What are you measuring?

It also seems the people who were screaming "Europe is locking down, its a disgrace the UK isn't!" aren't now saying Europe should be followed in easing the lock down.

Should never have been announced at 7PM on a Sunday night. Utterly shambolic decision. Apparently public transport in and around London was rammed this morning. You can bet that the same thing happened in all major cities in England.

They should have got the detail defined and released to the public and employers a week in advance, not 12 hours and in such a wooly, confusing manner.

He actually got a warning off the Speaker of the Commons last week for saying they’d do it (the Sunday announcement), rather than in the Commons where all that detail could have been published / teased out via questions - and completely ignored him.

How they are behaving is even more dangerous than what they are actually doing imo

Wild claims? Like what?

He was quoted as saying it, I didn’t see him say the actual words, but let’s see how this plays out. Maybe I got it wrong, but I wouldn’t put it past a Tory minister to use those words.
Ah sorry, saw someone else make the same claims who tends to be a bit more on the Russian bot style of posting and thought it was in reference to them. My bad.

Raab:

"If you’re out in the park and you’re two metres apart, we’re saying now, and use some common sense and you socially distance, you can meet up with other people."

Asked if people could meet both their parents outside like this, at one point he agreed with a suggestion that you could meet one parent in the morning, and another in the afternoon. But in another interview he said you could meet both at the same time, provided you kept two metres apart. (See 8.59am.)

Raab’s team subsequently retracted what he said about people being allowed to meet two other people outside at the same time. It is just one person (including just one parent) you’re allowed to meet.

It’s the constant miss communication that is the issue.

From first lockdown to this they are failing to communicate what rules they want the public to follow.
