And the vintners association want to open the pubs next month as well. The absolute scandal of care homes being ignored also. To be fair, we've not had a functioning government for 80 odd days.

It`s not that simple though is it ?

It`s a balancing act between economic ruin, which in itself will bring waves of ill health, mental health issues, suicide, crime and family break ups, which will pile more pressure on an already overburdened public sector.

Take Blackpool as a region in isolation. Fifty percent of it`s income comes from tourism and it`s already one of the most deprived areas in the country.

Do you let the whole place collapse or do you try and find a balance between getting the area back on it`s feet again as safely as is possible or do you just let the region collapse with all the incredible human tragedy that would bring ?

I don`t have the answer mate, but it`s not as cut and dried as you are making out.

I`ve never had a skinhead in my life, but a couple of weeks ago me and my eldest lad got a set of clippers and went down to the wood.

He looks quite good and I look ridiculous, as I have such a high fod, but it`s better than having a walnut whip on top of my head lol

I've got a really thin long head and proper tall so if I go down to the wood I'll just look like Slenderman.

I think it's all about timing and doing things gradually. The first steps in the next few weeks are likely to be very small so I think it could be the right time to start soon.

The key part is how the government message things though. They need to be very clear that small relaxations of the rules do not mean things are normal. I worry people will take a slight change as the go ahead to do anything they like, so it's important they are very clear about what still isn't ok. But equally a small relaxation will give people a bit of hope that there's light.

My wife bought some Wahl clippers and did mine and my son’s hair and she’s surprisingly good it: semi-reasonable fade and used the scissors on top.

She even suggested that we stop going to the barbers after all this is over, but she unsurprisingly didn’t like the response. “Ungrateful.... do it yourself you...”*

*add expletives and insults of you choice.

My recent post is about Vit D, I have been much better in general since starting but it can cause calcification from what I have read, so bone spurs, perhaps artery deposits but providing you stick to recommended dose and have blood tests they are well worth taking. Just from my perspective, *not recommended without medical consultation!

I knew I’d get put off....

There’s a train of thought that thinks a second wave of the virus will have a worse impact on the economy than a continued lockdown.

It has been poorly managed, no argument from me. I have said so all through, but it wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference which political party was in power, it is the CS, PHE and the NHS that are doing 99.99% of the management. The politicians have been led by the CMO and CSA and basically done as they were told. So for some to be shouting murderers etc etc is just crazy.....

Sadly for you pete, you posting excuses is all the evidence anyone would need to see who is ultimately responsible for this.

The relaxation of restrictions is inevitable, but the question is when and how they take place. I think we all expect a phased return, with a token gesture next week.

If it's a quick and sudden removal, I really do worry that we'll see a large spike in cases that will itself add even more damage than the first, like @Charro suggests.

I worry that the government are probably looking at the NHS capacity and thinking, well how much can we relax before this is overrun - alas accepting more deaths.

I also worry that people are already becoming so disenchanted with the lock-down, basically ignoring it, that Sunday's advice will not be fully heeded anyway.

"They said we can do now do A, so I'll do A, B and C because I know better*..." *By know better, I mean they're ignorant, egotistical tossers.
