Hope she's doing well Joey, and your good self of course.

I myself have spent far longer than 2 hours trying to access a lady without success so I know how frustrating it can be.

@COYBL25 - good luck.
@COYBL25 is into tranvstites ATM ......a hospital should not need a description about social distancing the care firm where in shock on what they were asking ......they rebuked anything the hospital wanted - quite rightly ......

Spanish Flu killed millions though?
Yeah there is a documentary on Netflix. Called coronavirus explained its only on for half an hour it’s very informative. It says about the Spanish Flu an ranks the many viruses man has seen on a deadly infectious scale. They need to be the right kind of deadly an infectious to cause a pandemic.

They all so have people testing bats apparently they carry thousands of viruses. They found one that had a coronavirus 96 percent similar to Covid19.

What a day we had yesterday my mother in law has slight dementia & Alzheimer's had a slight fall the lock down recently even with 4 Carers per day has got to her - she can't understand fully why my wife who does all her shopping has to social distance .....so yesterday pm she hit the buzzer and an ambulance was out in speedy time they spent two hours accessing her .....My wife was informed that their was no bruises to indicate a fall etc ......then at the very last minute decided to take her to hospital ......with A&E being sparce she was in a ward so quick and a doctor seen her pronto .....
He then assessed her as being A1 ......
My wife then recieved a telephone call come and pick her up .....and spend the night with her ....
She explained about her dementia as she did not live with her .......and I was a vulnerable person with grade Three kydney desease also they took her in for x ray etc ......
She had to tell them about social distancing and told the boss of the Carers who was horrified, they are now sorting out her return home.......
It's very worrying when a ward in a hospital just wanted rid after an ambulance crew had taken their decision to hospitalise her in the first place .......? Without even a X Ray after an alleged fall.....
so sorry to hear that joey
Admittedly it took me 4 attempts to understand it and i can only assume you meant a Vulnerable person and not a avunera le person lolL
Hopefully your mother in law will be OK

I've no doubt there will be a lot of PTSD or similar problems from many health workers, not just from patient deaths but from losing colleagues too. But following on from that, mental health across the country is going to be a big problem, from dealing with grief to the effects of the shut down, people losing jobs, financial concerns. The list goes on.

We're only at the start of this and we're already starting to see some of the economic fallout. I reckon millions in this country will lose their jobs by the time a vaccine brings an end to this.

Re the domestic abuse/social worker/ppe thing from yesterday, the director of nursing has told community staff they've got to continue visiting families where domestic violence is suspected. Usually social workers would go along too, so there's a degree of safety in numbers (and often they would try and do the visit when the abuser is out), but of course, social workers aren't doing anything because they lack ppe, and the abuser is highly likely to be home due to lockdown. Not sure that's been thought through, sending a 50kg woman into a home with a violent man. Great
If they have reason to believe there may be a risk the nurse should be accompanied by a police officer. Otherwise she shouldn't go.

British Airways and Ryan Air being just the start of things to come

The US intelligence community came out only yesterday to state that they agree with the "wide scientific consensus" regarding Covid-19's natural origins.

Trump came out and sparked a debate with a counter comment, but he talked about ingesting bleach so he probably believes Apollo 13 brought back cheese.
Not sure if you're old enough to remember the Moonstone pub lin Liverppol.

They used to do a very nice cheese and mushroom omelette in therelol

In the

lol :):)lol

Like the known knowns and the unknown knowns crap we were subjected to, and all of those WMD's that were stashed all over Iraq and literally pallet loads of dollars flown in to be used as bribes that were unaccountable.

Trying to figure out which which you’re coming at this mate . so you think it was made in a lab because the security services and scientists saying it wasn’t can’t be believed or you think it was made in a lab because You believe the president saying it was made in a lab because his intelligence services told him it was ?

or something different ?

I honestly don’t know , the scientists and virologists probably have a better idea than me so until evidence suggests otherwise I’m tempted to go with them but obviously things change .

I believe GSTT (the trust that treated Johnson) has two clinical psychiatrists on duty for every shift for people who need them, which is pretty good tbh.

Any home with someone accused of domestic violence is a risk I'd have thought. Thankfully, due to the shortage of PPE, she's borrowed a suit of armour from the Imperial War museum to make do with.

Airlines are possibly the worst business to be in atm, how on earth do they recover?

No lifting of lockdown will get passengers back on planes, social distancing could be here a long time.

Hopefully the American pharma giant Gilead or the GlaxoSmithKline backed Oxford group will meet their most optimistic target and everything goes perfectly and we do get a vaccine in mass production by the end of the year. This is super optimistic though although early results are encouraging (only on animals so far for the Oxford research team).

Even if this rosy scenario happens, airlines won't get back to normal for a year to 18 months. There will be huge job losses, that's inevitable if noone is using them.

The desperate need to blame China I find bizarre. Whether it’s their wet markets, or escaped from the lab, is largely irrelevant at this point in time, as it doesn’t change our containment response planning.

Sure, the origin, when absolutely determined, will affect international relations and trade, possibly even reparations, and is important in understanding for future prevention. But none of that changes our response strategy in the here and now.

Those saying - “see I told you it was from that lab” when there was no evidence of that whatsoever, and they just ‘had a feeling’ that it was ‘all a bit suspect’, is akin to me claiming I knew that a dice would land on a six before I threw it.
I think the desire to blame China is understandable. Most new flu virus's emanate from there and them keeping quiet about this initially allowed it to become a global pandemic.

The view that it was purposely released is highly questionable though.

I expect Ryanair to provide you with a mandatory face mask for the bargain price of £79.99.

When it was suggested to O’Leary that one way to get planes flying again was to remove both sets of middle seats, to create a safe distance, he point blank refused to even consider it.

Even under normal circumstances he’s not the easiest person to deal with.
