Going to be interesting to see how this Government deals with Uncle Xi, we have invested so much with China over the last decade...
Don’t you mean that we have sold them so much of our country and infrastructure over the last decade.
I doubt there’s much that we, or anyone else, can do about China when the dust settles. I’d like to be wrong of course.

The inevitable manoeuvring of blame began today between Minister's and the Science...

Asked by Keir Starmer at PMQs if the UK had been "slow" to act, Dominic Raab namechecked Whitty and Vallance as he insisted the UK had been "guided by the science"

At tonight's press conference Whitty repeatedly stressed that decisions were for ministers.

Let the blame game begin...
I think you can throw Civil Servants and Public Behaviour into that mix too.

If his symptoms were nothing more than a cold and he used those mild symptoms to disappear from public view, then surely there would have been plenty of people who would have loved to have come out at the slightest opportunity to put this out there mate?

Could we take a look at what that might look like though.

His entourage would all be under non-disclosure agreements so nothing going to come from them.
Doctors and nurses wouldn't say anything as he legitimately went in with symptoms of the virus.
What I think happened is that Johnson has displayed mild symptoms and was advised by Cummings to be admitted as a precaution, just as we were told at the time. He came out 6-7 days later and we were told it was "touch and go" for a while even though he wasn't even ventilated. How was it touch and go if he wasn't even on a ventilator?
He is now holed up at Chequers and has been for some time, and avoiding scrutiny.......again! and MOST importantly doesn't want his picture appearing next to the daily death toll figures and reports of his governments gross negligence in handling most aspects of the crisis we all face. It just wouldn't look good yanno.

If you see the Lesser Spotted Johnson before I do giz a shout mate.

I would expect to see him when the death figures start to really come down, or when it's all over bar the shouting. Till then he's quite happy to let Hancock and that dreadful woman who is the Minister for Care, who doesn't really........ take all the flak.

Have to hand it to Cummings he's played us all like a fiddle, as has Johnson.

The Swedish Public Health Agency made international headlines yesterday by estimating that one-third of Stockholm residents would be infected with the coronavirus by May 1. Less than 24 hours later, the Agency has taken a dramatic u-turn and withdrawn the report. The decision was announced via Twitter: "We have discovered an error in the report and so the authors are currently going through the material again. We will republish the report as soon as it is ready."
While the nature of the error was not disclosed, the Agency also said they would share more information about it once the revised report was complete.

During yesterday’s press conference, the deputy state epidemiologist Anders Wallenstein announced the report based on data models that indicated the spread of the coronavirus was much higher than previously thought. Among the claims were that for every one person tested positive for COVID-19, up to 999 others could also have the infection without knowing.

Swedish journalist Emanuel Karlsten queried this during a Q&A session at the press conference. Given there are more than 15,000 confirmed cases, the Agency’s estimate would mean that the total number of likely infections would be greater than the entire population of Sweden.
