No that's not acceptable but whether you report is up to you.

If the child is under 18 they can be moved between houses. Whether a driving lesson counts I'm not sure.

Family opposite me, Mum and two teenagers. Mum and Dad are separated, so Dad lives elsewhere. He turned up yesterday afternoon and took one of the teenagers out for a driving lesson, gone about an hour. Came back and he then drove away. Is this acceptable? Should we be reporting incidents like this? Hoping the experts on here can advise.

I don't think there is any need to report such an incident either.

Short of a big gangs of people, such as idiots - including police - clapping nurses outside hospitals and on bridges - then there is very little need to be reporting anyone.

listen I don’t really disagree with that but like has been said today and like has been leaked for over a week I think we’ll see gradual relaxation building to more .

Personally I think the government lack any real plan so are in a panic and are lurching from idea to idea trying to find a solution that suits economically, socially and most importantly tackles the pandemic .

probably a stupid analogy but This whole situation reminds me of the Iraq war , we’ve got into a situation without any real idea what the exit strategy is . The real damage isn’t so much caused by the initial intentions but by the failure to have any real plan of what to do next .
Going into this there wasn’t an exit strategy as it’s an unprecedented situation. Policy makers are looking at how to get the economy moving again but I think the main thrust of the plan is to closely observe other countries who have lifted restrictions closely and see if they are successful in avoiding another wave.

I think the police will have better things to do than chase after a father and daughter driving around at low speeds for an hour frankly.

Such as clap the NHS in big groups :)

But yeh, there is absolutely no need to be reporting this but it's unclear tbf so nothing wrong with asking.

Personally, I'm not in for dobbing anyone up for doing anything less than blatantly ignoring guidance (i.e. having a house party) - and even then, I'm no grass.

frankly mate i Don’t care if it’s unprecedented, any situation you become involved in you need a plan how to extricate yourself . It doesn’t matter if it’s troops in Ireland or in Iraq or a lockdown for the pandemic you can’t take a decision without planning moves ahead . I’m not saying you can’t evolve those plans as the situation develops but you’ve got to have a plan .

whether it’s business , military decision making , policing strategy, politics or tactics for dealing with a global pandemic I cannot believe that a leap into the dark without any clue what happens next is a Sound idea . There’s a reason why exercises are gamed or we played out operation Cygnus so we aren’t just making it up on the hoof .

I thought kids can be switched between parents?

Even so it's hard to report after the event and just be your word against his unless they can be caught in the act. More likely create trouble for you afterwards though, just stay away from them!
Well the questions were more rhetorical really, I won’t be reporting anything, it’s just not worth the hassle, but I’m not sure about that bolded bit. Thought everyone had to stick to one household?
