Has anyone considered that the Americans, CIA, engineered the virus, then released in the market in Wuhan, knowing that there is a biolab in Wuhan and that China would be blamed for it; so that they can sue China for the $1t and overthrow the Communist Government there and undermine the WHO to benefit big pharma?

ffs, what a stupid reason for not wearing ppe. Ridiculous.

The place where my mum goes is pretty high end - I mean, it's like a hotel in there, but to me it's still horrid cause I can't think of anything worse than being in one. It seems to be a lot of dementia patients, but I believe any 'agency' staff or part-timers like my Mum (who isn't employed by the home but works in a visiting capacity for the families of people in there) have all been told not to go in since the shutdown.

Hopefully it stays that way like and they don't have any cases.

I'm sure you'll know since your daughter works in one but care homes usually shut down at the earliest sign of bugs going around and stuff. It might even have made it harder to get accurate data, too.

Its also a dementia home, to be fair they locked down pretty quickly a long time ago and they are at least checking staff at the door for raised temp and have said they will try and limit the different staff, but sadly some staff is better than no staff, so needs must.

I hate to give anyone any credit, but from test yesterday to a positive diagnosis tonight has taken just over 24 hours.

That's very good.

In this case, it really does seem it's quantity that's needed, and quality is actually 'good' (for lack of a better term).

Because the genetic development of it is basically impossible to artificially create. I'll look for the link when next at PC but basically it has evolutionary traits that lend only to the possibility of it evolving naturally.
What do you think they do in a virus lab?

You could die 100 times over within 5 minutes if you were in one without a hazmat suit.

They absolutely could make a virus that had genetic properties that could appear to be anything they wanted it to be. They could release a virus that could disappear without a trace.

The lack of knowledge of what goes on in places like that is amazing, or scary whichever way you look at it.

This 100% came out of a lab, although despite my love for a conspiracy theory , reckon it was purely accidental rather than anything more.

The care home my daughter works in has yet to have a case, they arent allowed to wear masks in case they "scare the old people". The problem is the sheer amount of Agency staff they use, so you would assume its only a matter of time........
My sister in her care home is getting full ppe. Even them perpex face masks/welders masks.

Ta mate.
They seem to have had it as I've said.
My eldest, who lives with them has shown no symptoms, but clearly must have it I would assume ?
The family transmission figures I’ve seen have been pretty high although apparently that can be reduced with self isolation and vigilant hygiene. So if he mostly kept to his room and washed his hands a lot he might have avoided it but seems wise to assume he contracted it, for isolation purposes at least.

He's kept in his room a lot. He's been at Uni until it shut, and works in a supermarket on a Saturday.. so christ only knows who he's been in contact with.

@davek has indeed considered that mate and is currently writing a full report on it.

To be published on here anytime soon.

Uh oh. Didn’t realise we now had a biological weapons expert in our midst.

They’d be able to tell if this was a man made virus though as the genetic markers would be very distinctive.

Secondly, people getting ill from viruses in a lab happens a fair bit, SARS-1 leaked multiple times and resulted in single figure infections.

In the Far East the threat was being treated more seriously in the early weeks of February. Martin Hibberd, a professor of emerging infectious diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, was in a unique position to compare the UK’s response with Singapore, where he had advised in the past.
“Singapore realised, as soon as Wuhan reported it, that cases were going to turn up in Singapore. And so they prepared for that. I looked at the UK and I can see a different strategy and approach.
“The interesting thing for me is, I’ve worked with Singapore in 2003 and 2009 and basically they copied the UK pandemic preparedness plan. But the difference is they actually implemented it.”
