If restaurants are to open, I'd imagine it's a take away service to start with? I think schools will be one of the first followed by barber shops, hairdressers and then hopefully get the gyms open.
These will be one of the last I'd suspect - err hope - because while I do need a haircut there is no way you can social distance when you're stood a few inches away.

I just don't get how they can come out with straight faces and tell everyone it's all going according to their original plan. Meeting all their targets etc.
They must have had truly abysmal targets set if so.

Well they said less than 20,000 deaths a few weeks back would be a positive.

Germany's figures are still a bit odd. They've done a lot better in terms of deaths than us obviously but they weren't counting the deaths of those with underlying conditions at first, for example, which could have been a big number. I do think that changed mind.

Basically, like people know that the UK's figures aren't 100% because of stuff like care homes/hospices etc, we can't just all take other countries' at face value either. There's far too many factors.

In the end the mortality rate of people who go into hospital with this thing isn't good anywhere in the world - it's like 7-10% average.

But the vast majority of people who have it aren't getting tested and the a lot of those won't have known they even had it for sure.

Went out for some fresh air this morning and some weirdo approached me asking for directions. I think I managed to stay 2m away from her. What kind of moron approaches strangers in these times? And what kind of idiot leaves their house without a clear idea of where they're going?

Everyone's talking about opening things up and keeping the weak and vulnerable in isolation. But it might be more effective to keep the idiots at home and just leave everyone else to roam free.

He just shouts at every political guest he has on. It's tedious.

I sometimes agree with his opinions but he gives people no chance to speak.
Their refusal to move away from the party script doesn't help and invites interruption, if they spoke honestly and as an individual I genuinely think in a time of crisis they would be given more patience at least from the public

Bet you jumped out yer skin mate lol

Had something similar happen to me a few days back - was walking the hound and someones dog comes over for a sniff but wouldn't leave so the owner came over to grab the dog but was stood right next to me before trying to chat so I had to move back a bit.

Definitely wasn't far enough away to prevent infection so if either he or I have it the other is goosed!

The wearing of face masks: I watched Peston last night and it's absolutely clear that face masks, according to experts around the world, are a major part of the armoury to get on top of this virus. Our government's position is bankrupt. It came through loud and clear in Peston's show, in a heated interview with HanCOCK, that the position he was arguing from was one of resources: that securing enough would be a problem. Theyjust dont want 'face maks' under provision to be aded to the catalogue of failure concerning PPE, testing kits, ventilators.

You should have told them to 'koff.

Ignorant gets.

Well I don't know. While I agree with the point about why are they asking where are they going, think about what this virus has turned you into mate if this is now your reaction. That someone's a weirdo asking for directions.

three weeks ago you wouldn't have thought such a thing.

So, let's say when the lockdown measures are lifted, are you going to just go back to normal or are you going to still be wary of people? It'll be the latter, won't it?

Like on Tuesday I was on my bike ride. I had a good idea of where I was going but wasn't 100% sure where this path led out. I had to wait for this couple walking their dog to come through the gate and they were a good 5m away from me, at least. Since they'd just come off the path I asked them if it led out to a certain village (it did in the end, my sense of direction is pretty good) - they looked at me and then just rather rudely turned around.

I hadn't approached them. I hadn't gone up to them and got in their space. Yet they still reacted that way.

Fear, mate. You can't live in fear and let fear control you. You can be wary and cautious and follow the government guidelines etc without letting the panic/instinct part of your brain take over. Not saying you did in this case and I agree it's weird for someone to come right up to you, but really, have they done anything wrong?
