The government are already saying that they can’t help every business and household, so people are going to suffer badly if this continues, furlough or not.

The longer we’re in lockdown, the more people will flout the rules anyway. You can only ask healthy, young people to stay indoors for so long.

I agree but I do think we need another 3 weeks of this and it will be worth it in the long run. The death toll is still horrendous.

Hopefully in 3 weeks the deaths will be far lower and we'll be ready to start taking gradual steps to relax things.

I just think we’re in a catch-22 situation and I certainly don’t envy the people who will make the decision because either/or will cause death via the virus or poverty.

The call for body bags came late Saturday. By Monday, the police in a small New Jersey town had gotten an anonymous tip about a body being stored in a shed outside one of the state’s largest nursing homes. When the police arrived, the corpse had been removed from the shed, but they discovered 17 bodies piled inside the nursing home in a small morgue intended to hold no more than four people.“They were just overwhelmed by the amount of people who were expiring,” said Eric C. Danielson, the police chief in Andover, a small township in Sussex County, the state’s northernmost county.

The 17 were among 68 recent deaths linked to the long-term care facility, Andover Subacute and Rehabilitation Center I and II, including two nurses, officials said. Of those who died, 26 people had tested positive for the virus. For the others, the cause of death is unknown.Of the patients who remain at the homes, housed in two buildings, 76 have tested positive for the virus; 41 staff members, including an administrator, are sick with Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, according to county health records shared on Wednesday with a federal official.
I'm no longer being shocked by these reports sadly. A few weeks ago there was a BBC news report on a care home in Spain where the residents had been abandoned. The report was very quickly suppressed but when all this is finally over I think we'll get to hear some really horrific and tragic stories from around the world.

All except China probably

He's just completed his one-hundredth lap and has (currently) raised £12,229,872.92 for the NHS with his desire to keep on going as long as money is pouring in.

For you Captain Moore... Virtutis Fortuna Comes!
12 million, what a fella.
Doubt i'd be able to move at all if I got to his age.

Or just stay close to home ?

It’s not that hard really.
It is difficult for some people but not because of the logic behind it; many people find it difficult as they simply do not like to conform due to their own 'self-worth'.

I doubt I'll even get to his age!

If restaurants are to open, I'd imagine it's a take away service to start with? I think schools will be one of the first followed by barber shops, hairdressers and then hopefully get the gyms open.
