I know a lad who takes his kids out of school on vaccine days (loves a conspiracy theory), it will be curious to see how anti-vaxxers respond to a vaccine being on offer for COVID 19
Herd immunity innit!

However, my money is on managing the symptoms, viruses are sneaky changing blighters.

Are you looking at the numbers on the same day? Because you can’t do that. Track their numbers from the day they got 10 cases.

You have to be massively careful. Sweden are about 7 days behind us. You need to compare where we were 7 days ago.
You also need to be conscious of demographics, urbanisation etc.

Did you not read what I posted...

When were May or Patel in charge of the GMC? Thanks in advance for clarification

They're not. They're in charge of creating a hostile environment.

"Dr Jenny Vaughan, law and policy lead at DAUK, called for greater coordination between the Department of Health and Social Care and the Home Office “to ensure that every single doctor who could be saving lives is able to do so”.

She added: “We expect the government to be pulling out all the stops to ensure that the GMC is enabled to register as many doctors who want to work as possible. We are still hearing from perfectly able doctors that their applications are being held up by unnecessary and hostile red tape.”

In a statement, Una Lane, the GMC’s director of registration and revalidation, said the body was adhering to guidelines set out by the government. “[Our] work is guided by what government and health services need and ask of us, which is why we have agreed with the UK’s chief medical officers to re-register specific groups of doctors.”

I used to live near Victoria park.

Much of the surrounding area is really poor, with lots of high density housing with no outside space.

The benefits of giving poor people access to public, outside space needs to be given a fair bit of weight.

By deploying marshals and having some police patrols, enough social distancing can be achieved to suppress the transmission risk enough to make those benefits worthwhile.
Haha so did I Lakeview estate. Defo sounds nicer than it was. Yeah I can understand that point of view.

No. People who come from overseas that try and blag qualifications have created a hostile environment.

That’s funny but I could have sworn it was May who did the “hostile environment” thing - at least that’s what the van said.

Josef Mengele says Hi. Perhaps there are other reasons why a Doctor may not be allowed in....who knows eh....

Which side, Hackney or Tower Hamlets?

Used to work in Hackney and that bit of London is (or at least was) the most mixed up living space I’ve ever seen - mad estates about two minutes walk from some of the nicest houses and most pleasant streets in London.

Not in this instance, where reading the article that was originally posted used ‘hostile environment’ to describe the GMC asking for foreign Doctors to complete competence evaluations to actually make sure they are qualified to do the job.
