yes, and the fact people aren't going out or catching the FLU means Hospitals are much quieter than predicted. hence more capacity
You don't get it this is not the flu it's more like an instant Pneumonia in some bad cases, NZ one death as their public abide by the rules we have atm - a different mindset maybe?...... One MP got caught with his family on a isolated beach - he is getting sacked when this epidemic is over in NZ......
all beaches and coasts barriers already up on the roads before the Easter break......NZ.....
For some reason a minority just don't get it in the UK ....?

They do get it, but they also get that everyone will go bust if it goes on too long.

All along the governments plan was to not swamp the NHS, not stopping people getting the virus.

Has that changed?

I think in Spain they’ve said late April, but I’m not paying much attention to that. I firmly expect to be in lockdown through May at least. Anything less than that and I’ll either be over the moon that some big positive change has happened or I’ll be thinking feck that I’m staying home anyway. (One of the lucky ones who can continue working through this from home)

I expect Ireland to stay shut down for a long time also - Health Minister just said he expects the National Public Health Emergency Committee to recommend tomorrow that this continues for weeks.

Exactly how Hillsborough was allowed to rumble on for decades, how Grenfell has become sham, and child abuse inquiry is a joke. Allow the government to shape the narrative you get those three examples. Now is exactly when you question Governments.
It really isn't, and to imply any of the above events (different in their own way) are similar to this situation is questionable, at best.

But Italy's healthcare became swamped! They couldn't cope with the amount of cases. We seem sure that we can.

it's a huge difference
We have no idea according to the experts if we have peeked as yet due to the time lag on the infection rates.......
I hope you are correct by the way....I am in total lockdown can't go past my gate......

Fully expected from Johnson and Cummings. Indeed, it's shameful that Whitty and cronies have allowed themselves to be politicised. They can't be that niave to the process of politics, certainly not in the 21 century. Either they subscribe to ideologies of their political bosses or they have gone gooey eyed at being in spotlight, either way they are just as culpable.

I know I'm repeating myself from a couple of weeks ago, but Tony Houlihan CMO in Ireland has played a blinder. Calm but firm throughout, the politicians have listened carefully to and implemented the advice from him and the National Health Emergency Committee.

I have to give justified credit to all parties for their performances so far.
